Open Carry Texas demonstrates why THEY are not qualified to carry rifles in public places.

From one of their own pictures, taken back in October when they went on one of their chest-thumping, attention-seeking forays at a local Smashburger restaurant.

Now aside from the fact that about half of those unattended long guns appear to be "leaning with intent to fall", A zoom on the AR to the far left, closest to the bald bozo in the Cabela's shirt, reveals that the safety selector is vertical to the rifle, meaning that it's set to FIRE. Two of the other ARs have their safeties obstructed by slings or camera angle, but I'm willing to bet that at least one of them has it's safety disengaged, too; that's just the sort of half-assed idiots that these half-assed idiots are. That safety violation would get a shooter DQ'd (disqualified) at many professional shooting events and even tossed off the range at some places where people who take shooting and gun safety seriously practice. Open Carry Texas claims that they want people to feel comfortable with other people carrying long guns around them but based on this display alone, I'd have a hard time feeling comfortable with anyone from their group carrying a firearm of any sort around me.

These clowns have to be paid anti-gunners trying to discredit the rest of us...they just have to be.

(h/t to Badtux the Snarky Penguin for the picture.)

  1. I think I'll fall back to a Sherlock Holmes quote "How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"
It's a false flag operation, nothing else makes sense.

  5. I'm halfway tempted to join up with the local version of those yahoos in an upcoming event, to sort of take the temperature of who they really are, or determine whether they're just clueless imbeciles with no idea on how to successfully sway public opinion and policy.

    1. There is absolutely no reason to believe this is the case, as there are plenty of people on "our side" who agree with what they are doing and support it. Let's just accept the reality that among any given group or demographic, there are idiots. These are ours.

  7. The Donald - do it and report back. Taking care of a problem requires proper information.

I don't want to sit next to these guys, either.

  8. The Left is all about false-flag ops., it's how they run things, and they're pretty good at it...

  9. You cannot engage the safety on a decocked AR.

  10. Wait, so a few bad apples shouldn't be used as examples to disparage and mock all gun nuts? Because that would be collectivist and wrong? Because that's what gun-grabbing progs and lib'ruls do?

Question for libertarians who can read and think: Does the same courtesy apply to cops, or is every one of them (just ask cop-hate site Reason.com) a jackbooted thug who dreams at night of killing your dogs and beating up your grandmother?
