Marching to the Sea

Like Sherman of old, I'm off to march to the Georgia coast today.

OK, actually I'm driving. Heading off for a week or so in scenic Brunswick, with (hopefully) a Memorial Day Week-end side-trip to someplace actually interesting.

And yes, I shall blog from the road. And eventually there will be pictures.

The Heckhounds will be staying in the house under the care of a couple of my new neighbors, so we'll see how that goes.

And that said...I'm off.

  1. Wave at FLETC when you go by, I spent a summer there going through the INS Inspector Academy. I liked the people of the area, but the weather, not so much.

  4. Hmm, along the way are the USS Alabama (BB-60) in Mobile, and the Naval Air Station (with museum and Blue Angels) in Pensacola. Just sayin'.

  5. Mullet Bay Restaurant, St. Simons Island.
If you're traveling on I-10 to I-95, you'll go past Fernandina Beach (Exit 373 on I-95). Stop in there, go to Jack & Diane's at 8th and Centre St. for breakfast.

  7. Savannah is just as nice this time of year, and there are some awesome seafood restaurants in the area, as well as some beautiful historic forts and houses.
