I even managed to snag top shooter at the academy with it, against all comers. I'd love to have another but the prices for good examples have increased just a bit. To give you a feel for how much respect I have for those revolvers, I passed my 2 1/2 inch 66 to my daughter as her first carry/self defense handgun. I'm pretty sure it'll go from her to one of her own children when the time comes. And with a heavy pistol like that one, the recoil is very manageable. I love it!Buzz Carterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02239432008993464831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20147126.post-12996981311514125262013-10-08T22:35:42.914-05:002013-10-08T22:35:42.914-05:00Oh, and I forgot to mention... a pair of Ruger Spe...Oh, and I forgot to mention... a pair of Ruger Speed Sixs, both 2 3/4 inch stainless ones.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11635784352780834494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20147126.post-30699055335476397672013-10-08T22:34:43.360-05:002013-10-08T22:34:43.360-05:00I have the same M66-1, but mine is a 2 1/2 snubbie...I have the same M66-1, but mine is a 2 1/2 snubbie with Eagle Secret Service stocks and trigger job. 100 percent tight gun to!

Got it so long ago I am not even sure when or where I bought it!

I do know I have had it longer than I've been married (21+ years.)

And yes, it's one of my favourite guns, along with my 629-1 4 inch .44 Magnum trail gun, 2 1/4 inch 640-1 (with a flash chrome trigger I installed) carry gun, and my Colt Commander .45.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11635784352780834494noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20147126.post-42021964714176152592013-10-08T20:16:13.263-05:002013-10-08T20:16:13.263-05:00Though I own both, I am partial to the wheelgun. ...Though I own both, I am partial to the wheelgun. Though certainly bested or outranked by the impeccable 66, I probably feel the same as you do about my Security Six (s/s with o/s grips) as my 'go to', followed closely by its bigger cousin, a Jordan-Keith Redhawk s/s. The semis needn't feel unloved, though, as my American badguy stoppers, Mr. P-90 (wearing Hogue aftermarket exotic slabs) and Mr. Ser 80 Mk IV s/s are next in line of faves.

Oddly, I've only ever owned one wünder-9, an HK VP70Z. While it's possibly collectible or valuable today - with the long, heavy DA trigger pull, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it, and bought the .41 Mag with its proceeds. I've never regretted it.an Donalbanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06418506325893352676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20147126.post-11629838971463362702013-10-08T20:09:34.607-05:002013-10-08T20:09:34.607-05:00@ Old NFO: Colts are nice, but they work backwards...@ Old NFO: Colts are nice, but they work backwards.

@ Bob: Those Security Sixes are nice, too.

@ Armed: A :3" 65?
