For the first time since I got back home, Yesterday I took Lagniappe down to the river to swim.
He seemed to enjoy himself, paddling around in the warm waters of the Shenandoah River. I threw sticks in for him and typical Lagniappe, he retrieved most every one but instead of bringing them back to me, he ran over to a spot on the bank and piled them all up in a little stick trove.
He also spent a fair bit of time climbing out onto the rocks in the river and posing like King Dog of the River.
It was good to get him out again. He needs the exercise and I've hated not being able to run or swim him on a daily basis like I used to do. Soon pal. We'll be running together again soon.
Finally I took him home. He seemed a bit miffed about being confined to the porch for the rest of the evening, but that's because he hasn't quite figured out that wet, smelly dogs don't have a lot of fans. Sucks to be you, Lagniappe!
