They actually did it! California Democrats vote to give college financial aid to illegal aliens

SACRAMENTO - Students who came to the country illegally could apply for state financial aid when they attend California colleges and universities under legislation approved Tuesday by the Assembly in a party-line vote.

Supporters said immigrant children who have graduated and completed at least three years of high school in California should not be penalized for their parents' decision to bring them to the U.S. illegally.

"It is one small measure to help these kids that are working their butts off to live the American dream," said Assemblyman Hector De La Torre, D-South Gate.

The bill would build upon existing state law that allows the same group of students to qualify for in-state tuition at California public schools and community colleges based on high school attendance, rather than U.S. citizenship or state residency.

Critics said offering financial aid to illegal immigrants would shortchange needy American students already competing for a small pot of money.

"We're talking about limited resources here," said Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, R-Irvine. "There's only so much that can go around. It's a slap in the face to people who have followed the rules."

Lawmakers approved SB160 by a 43-27 vote, with no Republicans supporting it, and sent it to the Senate for final approval. Aides to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said he had taken no position on the bill.

This is clearly a reason to vote out any and every Democrat running for any office in November. They are so desperate to grab control of our government that they're willing to sell out or nation to illegal aliens--criminal trespassers in our country--in the hopes that the illegals and their supporters will help them win the next election. Now they want to give our tax dollars to people who not only aren't supposed to be here and who are barred by federal law from working here even if they do get a college degree. This is totally wrong, especially if it means that Americans who apply for this financial aid will not get it because it's been doled out to illegals as a campaign quid pro quo. Kudos to CA's GOP minority for not supporting this asinine measure and I hope that Gov. Schwartzenegger remembers that his duty is to Americans not parasites and vetoes this bill.

Truly, the mind boggles. Then it cramps and you have to bang it on something hard to get it to stop.

Yet, if we step back a little bit, we see that this is a typical Democrat pattern: take money that isn't yours in the first place and give it to people who don't deserve it at all, then congratulate yourself on how compassionate and wonderful and helpful you are. All the while looking for new ways to extract money from the citizenry

They used to be able to say that at least they gave it to other citizens, but that's out the window now!

Now hopefully, the Governator has been hit by a clue-by-four on this one. You can never tell with him.

Hey Californians, is Arnold really better than Grey-out Davis?

    Sheesh!
