The Power of Three.

Just because I felt like posting some gratuitous gun porn...

The top one is a vintage AR15A1 originally manufactured by PWA. It's Vietnam-style with a crude rear sight and a slow-twist barrel that can only handle the lighter 55 grain bullets, but it's a light rifle and it's accurate enough to shatter 4" sporting clays at a hundred yards.

Next is a Bushmaster AR15A2 HBAR (short for Heavy Barrel}. I got this critter the day that Bill Clinton signed the infamous 1993 "Assault Weapons Ban." It has the heavier barrel with a faster twist and a beautiful trigger. I used this one for Service Rifle matches back when I used to compete.

The lower rifle is a Colt AR15A3 Tactical Carbine. It's got a 16" barrel as opposed to the 20" barrels of the other two. It also has the collapsable stock, which comes in handy for storage in compact places and when shooting it while wearing body armor. It's a police-grade gun formerly owned by the La Mesa, California Police Department. It's actually marked "Law Enforcement/Military Use Only" (another byproduct of the Clinton AWB)and it's got a nifty tritium front sight post that glows nicely in the dark. Someday it'll sport an Eotech holographic sight and a Surefire tactical light on the business end. Come on, tax refund!

All three of these rifles are of course chambered for the 5.56mm cartridge and they share most of the same parts, accessories and tools. When the bad guys come creeping, I shall fear no evil, for I've got the Power of Three.

Oh--and Lagniappe.
