So I make a bag of broccoli for dinner. (Thanks for that, Liz!)
As I sit on the couch to watch TV with my broccoli, Lagniappe comes over to beg for some. I try to brush him off, but he persists. I hate it when they beg.
I tell him that dogs don't even like broccoli, but he keeps it up and keeps it up.
Finally I figure that I'll show him...I'll give him some and he'll dislike it and go away. I mean, what dog likes broccoli?
So I flip him a piece and he gobbles it right up. His eyes light up and he moves in even closer. Damn. He likes it. He really, actually likes it. And now he wants more.
Who ever heard of a dog eating broccoli? (sigh...) So much for enjoying my dinner in peace.
My sister's dog LOOOOVES yellow beans and carrots. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteSilly dog owner! My dogs beg more for veggies then meat! Well Pizza crusts are the only thing that will sway them from veggies.

Lagniappe knows what's good for him. Did you make the entire bag for dinner? You didn't eat it all by itself, did you? It's great that I got you to eat vegetables, but that's not much of a balanced meal.

ReplyDeleteI was going to, but I was still hungry, so I had some grilled pork and a granola bar to go with it.

It never suprises me what critters will eat. My dad had a Irish Setter that eat radishes. And I have a cat that eats popcorn
ReplyDeleteLagniappe lives for popcorn. He goes positively insane for it ever since a relative who watched him for me while I was in the police academy gave it to him regularly. Now I can't have any without getting pressured to share.
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah....my puppy loves veges and fruits of all kinds! If I eat it, she loves it. lol. ;) I think she thinks she is a human and should be eating whatever is on my plate. haha!!
