More proof that the whole "medical marijuana" scam is just about getting high and selling dope

Here we have Glen Meyer. Glen Meyer is a pothead. But Glen Meyer is also a pothead who was lucky enough to break his arm a few years ago and then hook up with a quack doctor somewhere who agreed with Glen that the only thing that would make Glen feel better is if Glen smokes pot every day for the rest of his life.

Let me insert my first "Give me a fucking break" right here. I got hurt a lot worse than this loser did a couple of years back, and I can tell you that people heal, and people injured much more seriously than this doper manage to get through life without smoking weed. And any number of returning vets can back me up on that.

But it gets better. It always does.

You see, Glen, who had permission from the state of Vermont to possess up to two ounces in his home for "medical purposes" was just busted by the local police, who found fifty-five plants and about four pounds of processed marijuana in his home and a restaurant that he runs. That's about $100,000 worth of dope, folks. And even Cheech and Chong and Woody Harrelson put together couldn't smoke all that up as "personal use".

Now he and his wife are facing felony drug charges as suspected drug dealers. And I hope they're convicted and their property is seized under the forfeiture laws designed to strip drug dealers of the fruits of their crimes. And I'll go farther and wish that this would rebound into the legislature in Vermont and put an end to the pretense of authorizing pot possession for people who claim any sort of phantom pain or nausea.

Of course Meyer claims that some of the pot wasn't his. That stuff growing outside his house? He claims that someone else planted those and he never noticed them. And he's hinting that the police are setting him up with the stuff found in his house and restaurant.

Here's where I insert the second "Give me a break."

Come on, stoner. We all know that every ounce was yours, and you know it too. At least try to act like a man for once in your pathetic life and own up to what you were doing. Don't act as if we're the ones on drugs by expecting us to buy those lame excuses. My dog comes up with better lies than you do.

Meanwhile, I'll continue to oppose the idea that smoking marijuana has any legitimate medical benefit or alleviates any pain that cannot be better treated with safe, regulated pharmaceuticals. And even though I'm a big States' Rights fan, I'll smile and approve every time that the feds step in and trump some state's decision to allow some druggie to get high while pretending that it's a medical necessity.

Lots of scammers use any excuse to get to do what they want to do. I don't know about that dudes condition, there are some legitimate medical uses for THC - but I doubt any of them require 4 freaking POUNDS be kept on hand! But, seems like anybody who wants to be illegally using pot, is making a LOT more work for themselves, and adding a lot more risk of exposure by going through the stunning complicated "legal pot" route.

But, before your masturbatory self-congratulations goes too far. Let me point out that there are MILLIONS of Americans scamming their MD's to keep their benzo's (valium, xanex, etc), speed (adderall, ritalin, etc) and junk/opiates (oxycontin, morphine, etc) flowing.

So be sure to keep your outrage, and good Christian judgementalism flowing equally at them.

  2. You're a bitter little pothead, aren't you?

Oh--and the "everybody else does something bad..." excuse didn't work when you were five, so why are you still offering it? Other people allegedly abusing prescription drugs has nothing to do with the following relevant facts:

    1. Marijuana users just want to get high, and:
    2. Marijuana is still illegal because it has no more relevant medicinal properties than huffing a can of paint might have.

Thank the libertarians, who want to decriminalize drugs and liberal wackos, who want to get high.

Folks like you are difficult to talk to because you've already made up your mind and that's that. Pot is evil and it's consumers are useless bums; that's what you think, so that's the propaganda you spread.

Who really benefits from the "war on drugs"? Check out LEAP.cc, they are law enforcement officers against cannabis prohibition. Surely our police know a thing or two, right? They advocate decriminalization in order to free up department resources to pursue the real criminals (not the stoners getting high in their own homes). In supporting the "war on drugs", you support a penal system that is ineffective in rehabilitating prisoners while it drains our cities of money that should be spent in more productive ways (healthcare, education). And it's arguable that the revenues from the "war of drugs" are smaller than the revenues from decriminalization. Certainly, the cost to our taxpayers would be far less.

I see you advocate automatic weapons. When someone says that they should be illegal, how do you respond? That guns don't kill people, people kill people? Well, I've never seen a cannabis plant actually kill or corrupt a person, it's the person.

You should reconsider your position on cannabis. Folks like me who get stoned support many of the same governmental "hands off" policies that I'm sure you favor. You enjoy your man made guns (which I'm fine with), what is wrong with someone enjoying a God made plant?!?

  5. Apples and Oranges, Jack. Automatic weapons are legal, drugs are not. And automatic weapons do not impair the judgment and cognitive skills of their users, unlike drugs.

And it's neat that you can point to some pro-pot shill group that's allegedly made up of police officers, but even if the membership is comprised of real police officers--which I doubt--the fact is that most police officers oppose legalization of drugs. and this has nothing to do with revenue but quality of life for the everyday decent citizen...the ones who are endangered by the drug traffickers that you pot smokers support.

And lastly, as to the prisons, WE don't support prisons. You folks who choose to break the laws do. Don't want to go to prison? Great. Don't mess with drugs.

Like I said, you've already made up your mind.

By your own comments, you haven't even done the simple homework of looking at LEAP.CC. You choose to simply dismiss the work and insight of police officers as fluff. Shame on you. And to say that firing round after round through the right kind of automatic weapon doesn't impair your judgement is to deny the power of such a gun. Part of the responsibility of gun ownership is to keep a check on the ego boost that often comes with using such powerful tools.

And you are ill informed of your own tax system. You do support prisons with your tax dollars (we all do). And "don't mess with drugs"? That's great advice dad; tell that to Rush Limbaugh. WIll you be so righteous and simplistic when automatic weapons are banned? Seriously; your play toys are on the chopping block every presidential election. Surely you see that. Luckily, you have a strong pro gun organization like the NRA to act on your behalf. But even the NRA has a hard time defending the automatic weapon pictured in your profile.

Your own argument to keep citizens safe supports cannabis legalization. Because of the inherent unknown in the current purchase of cannabis (who knows what you get, what's the cost, risk in getting busted), the average pot smoker would much rather legally buy their weed from the government over the "drug traffickers". Beer and scotch drinkers don't need to appeal to drug lords for a drink. Marlboro and cigar smokers don't have to turn to drug traffickers to get a smoke. The moment you make cannabis legal, you put out of business the very drug traffickers that endanger average citizens; thus creating a safer environment for everyone. Why don't you want the average citizen to be safer?

Finally, why would you deny the use of a plant that God made? Are you saying that God is wrong for creating a plant that produces fibers that are stronger than cotton? Is God wrong for creating a plant better at making paper than even wood? Is God bad for creating a plant that heightens our senses in a non addictive manner (unlike man made alcohol, tobacco, and most prescription meds). You are uninformed and blasphemous in your persecution of cannabis. Respectfully, you should reconsider your position on the decriminalization of cannabis.

"Meanwhile, I'll continue to oppose the idea that smoking marijuana has any legitimate medical benefit or alleviates any pain that cannot be better treated with safe, regulated pharmaceuticals."

well, i'm again glad you don't live in my state. AFter battling luekemia for over a year, and dealing with dozens of horrid pharmacueticals (unnatural drugs) that were supposed to help me regain my appetite and ease the pain the ONLY thing that helped me is pot. do i still smoke? nope. like most all medicines, they serve their purpose and then you can get off them.

thank god you're just a former cop and not a doctor.

and i'm no stoner, nor do i just want to get high. in fact, often that's the one side effect i didn't like was being spacey... but it was WAY better than the side effects of other drugs.

and i'm no medicare baby. i have the money and insurance to get the best pharmies available, but they didn't work.

do people abuse the system? sure. but people also abuse the gun-ownership and rights system. (and call it apples and oranges, but this is a very valid point to compare the two. yo just dont want to go there because it contradicts what you think about legalized medical pot)

you seem all about persona rights, and my smoking home-grown pot supplied by a legal supplier who doesn't break any laws is NOT harming you in the least and is HELPING me medically. Plenty of other countries recognize this. just because the US gov't doesn't, doesn't make it right.

thankfully, people like you are shrinking in numbers and people like me are getting more and more support for the choices WE make to keep our health in line.

  8. Yep, Jack. I'm dismissing that sham group out of hand. Why? Because I've spent many years in law enforcement and emergency services, and I know the pulse of the real police and EMS community when it comes to drugs. Personally, there have been few things that brought me as much pleasure as catching someone red-handed with drugs. Those people aren't about "freedom", they're about making money by doing whatever they can, including victimizing the rest of society.

Now as to the weapons, keep in mind that they're LEGAL (unlike drugs) and they're also protected under the Constitution (again, unlike drugs.)

But if criminals misuse guns, I'm all for locking them up in prison, right next to the drug dealers, and barring both from ever owning guns (or voting) again.

Now as to the claim that God made Marijuana, that's true. He also made Poison Ivy. feel free to smoke that or use it as a substitute for paper (may I suggest in lieu of toilet paper?) and then come back and talk to me. God put many things on this planet that weren't meant to be ingested, such as Nightshade, Jimson Weed, Arsenic, and Cyanide, just to name four. So that argument, like all of the others that you and Boyd put forth, has to fail.

Finally, legalization won't put drug dealers out of business. It would merely legitimize them, removing all criminal risk and stigma from their activities, and essentially reward them for what they've been doing thus far.

Nah, I prefer the traditional "rewards": prison, asset forfeiture, and a bullet to the head for repeat offenders.

  9. I have a friend who had a cancer. She went through radiation and chemo. Her doctor tried all the pharmaceutical drugs out there for her to be able to eat and keep food down. He finally gave her a med. marijuana card. She smoked half a joint before dinner and was able to eat her ONE meal of the day. When her cancer treatments were over, she stopped smoking and turned in her card.

For the most part, I agree with you that people are just trying to get around the law. This guy seems to be one of them.

But there are some people who have been helped. I'm glad my friend was able to get what she needed to get through treatments she said were worse then the disease.
