Even Nicky the Maltipoo knows when you're holding out on him.. And will stare at you, wherever you go, until you relinquish the treat you had hoped to save for the time when he has earned it.. :):)
And don't forget the DESP (Doggy Extra Sensory Perception). Trooper knew we were going for a walk even before I did.
BTW. I've been in contact with both Trooper's breeder and Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue. A new dog is looking more and more certain. Thanks for the tip on rescue.
I got these dog biscuits at Trader Joe's that are shaped like giant fire hydrants, cats, couches, choes and squirrels. One of the flavors is cheese and bacon.
It's like dog crack. Barkley has taken to spitting out the milkbone treat and then snooting the box of the TJ snacks.
At the end of the first box there was nothing but fine crumbs in the bottom. I poured them out into his dish. I expected him to roll up a piece of paper and snort them.
Oh yeah, they can count... Done that before with the same result (damn near tore my pocket off getting to that last cookie.
ReplyDeleteWithout doubt.
ReplyDeleteAnd just try giving one treat to one dog and two to another. The first dog will stare you down with its laser guilt vision.
