Saturday Man Movie

The beginning of "One Upon a Time in the West", where mysterious Harmonica, played by Charles Bronson, deals with three thugs sent by Frank, played by Henry Fonda. And that lead thug? Noted character actor Jack Elam.

  1. One of my favorites. The climactic gunfight between Bronson and Henry Fonda is great to watch, not only for Ennio Morricone's score, but for the ultimate close-up, of Bronson's pale blue gunfighter's eyes, in the scene.

    "Keep your lovin' brother happy."

  3. Woody Strode! Loved him in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence."

  4. While posting a Neil Young video on my blog, I noted that, if unshaven, he could look like a mid-career Jack Elam.

I have to go rent this movie this weekend. I've always enjoyed My Name is Nobody, as well as the later collaboration of Terrence Hill and Jack Elam in the Lucky Luke TV series.
