RIP Bob Odegaard

I completely missed this story last week somehow. I'm shocked.

Bob Odegaard Lost in Super Corsair Accident

Bob Odegaard was a legend in warbird restoration and flying. The F-2G Super Corsair that he was flying was one of only two left airworthy in the world and he'd restored both of them. He was without a doubt, "The Man". This tribute says it far better than I can:

Tribute to Bob Odegaard

Rest in Peace, sir.

The Super Corsair's first flight, just last year:

  1. That's a shame. May he rest in peace.

  2. He was a founder of the Fargo Air Museum. Unique, in that every plane on display is airworthy. All the radial engines have oil pans under them.
