Thank you all

It's a new day today, and an easier one in many way. My father's suffering is done and he's in a better place now. I'm taking care of what needs to be taken care of here and getting back to business. It's what he'd have wanted, what he'd have insisted on, especially with so much to be done.

I thank each and every one of you for your kind thoughts, prayers and messages of support. They were appreciated and they helped. I wish you all had gotten to know him, but heck, most of you know very little about me. Trust me, he was a good man, the sort that they don't make a lot of these days. I'll talk about it more in a few days, but right now I'm honestly too busy handling arrangements and taking care of family. But I'll be back when I can. It really is a new day now as we've turned the corner and life is undeway again. Expect more posts soon about guns, planes, politics and Murphy and in the meantime, on behalf of me and my family and especially my father who always read this blog, I thank you most sincerely.

  1. We're here for you, should you need anything. Borepatch & I lost our fathers last year, so we certainly understand ... and you know how to reach me, if needed.

  4. Take your time ML. When mom passed it took me months before I even really understood the impact her death had on me. Take care of yourself and don't hesitate to talk.

  5. Lansing is not all that far away, so if I can assist you...

Aaron knows how to get in touch.

  6. Late to the news but damned sad to learn it. So many of us are familiar with your place, now. And I am so glad you took the chance to see him. What a gift that was to each of you.

As you say, we know little enough of you but I can say freely that he raised an amazing gentleman. And that was his gift to us...

  7. Murph, he left you behind and that is a pretty damn good indication of the kind of father he was! May he rest in peace!

  9. Amigo, most of us who read your drivel (I know drivel, my blog is full of it) have your back. As an orphan (both parental units have passed) myself, I know intimately what you're suffering. But you'll do fine, as I have. God bless you. Don't stop writing.

  10. The person you are speaks greatly about the kind of person your Father was. I hate I did not get to meet him.

You know how to get a hold of me if you our your Mother need anything I can give.

    My Prayers and best wishes.
