Another winter storm is getting ready to paste the area. Most sensible people are hurrying home from work.
Me on the other hand...getting ready to head in. And I know--know--that after dealing with the storm conditions all night, I'm almost certainly going to get weathered in and held over at the end of my shift.
Sometimes I wish that I could be sleazy enough to call in sick and stay home all snug in my nice warm house while the weather goes to hell with snow, high winds and freezing rain, even just once. But I can't.
Stay safe, folks.
Yeah...it sucks having a sense of duty. It is what separates us from the zombie like Obama supporters.
ReplyDeleteSame to ya Murph. I'm down until at least 1300 tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYeah. We had Iceageddon down here the other day. I was the only one to show up until things thawed out - everyone else stayed home, including the boss.
ReplyDeleteI amused myself by counting expensive SUV's in the ditch as I went about my job. I would have stopped to help folks, but they were all abandoned from the night before.
What do you do with yer dog when u get stuck at work?
ReplyDelete@ B. I am blessed with kind neighbors who can look in on him.
ReplyDeleteWell, someone needs to be the adult . . . . glad it's you. Be safe, Spring's comin'!!
ReplyDeleteSo far so good today - hopefully you'll get back with no problems. My bus to taxi to kind mechanic to gas station to kind neighbor pickup truck commute home went well yesterday. Wishing you an equally successful trip
ReplyDeleteThose who can do. Those who won't sit around a bitch about how bad those who do make them look.
