Anti-gun co-worker who wants a gun getting on my last nerve again.

Wel today's been fun. My rabidly pro-Obama co-worker--the one who thinks that Barry walks on water and who supports the so-called "Assault weapons ban" for you and me and everyone else--is now perstering me again to help him find two AR-15 rifles, or, failing that, to help him build two.

I have explained to him that the legislation that his "dear leader" wants shoved down our collective throats would make such weapons illegal for everyone, him included, and he replied that existing ones will be "grandfathered" so that he'll be able to keep his. He expects the ban to become a reality, and he's fine with that. He just wants two of them for himself first. And like a majority of Americans, including 41% of liberals like him, he has no plan to comply with any surrender requirement that this new legislation might come to contain.
He then went on a rant to tell me that these bans were not Obama's fault because Obama isn't calling for anyone's guns to be taken. I pointed out the actual pending legislation outlined in Sen. Feinstein's bill and he exclaimed: "Well that just what she wants! It's not what President Obama wants!"

Oh yeah...and it's always "President Obama" with this guy. He has actually dressed others down for just calling him "Obama", or "Barry" or "B.O." in the past.

Well I told him that even if there were AR-15 rifles available for sale at a decent price, I, as a rule, do not arm Obama supporters or assist in such foolhardiness. "You wanted him, you live under his utopian dreams," I told him.

Thinking that we were done, I went on about my business, only to have him come back around later and tell me that a gun shop near him has two AR-15 lowers that he wants to buy. He wanted my advice on how to build them up as he knows that I work on such things. He wants to build one up and sit on the other one to see if it increases in value down the road.
"Do you know anything at all about how to build something like that?" I asked him. "Do you have the required tools?"
"Well no," he admitted, smiling broadly. "But you probably do, and you can do it for me, right?"

"What part of 'I don't arm Obama supporters' do you just not get?" I asked him.

"Aw, come on, man. That's just talk. You KNOW me, man," he argued.

"Yep. I do know you. And I know that you're an Obama supporter and therefore all of this current mess is your fault. You voted for this and it's on you, now."

Unfortunately this tool put it on the rest of us too, and he's still proud of that despite not wanting to personally accept the loss of freedoms that he is willing to see others subjected to. He's like any one of a number of anti-gun Democrats and Liberals who have fought for gun control only to be exposed as a closet gun owner themselves. The only difference is that, unlike Sen. Feisntein or any of the other hypocrites, he doesn't have a gun yet. Now he's realized that the boat's sailing and he's scrambling desperately to get on board himself, all while enthusiastically screaming "bon Voyage!" and cheering on the departure of the good ship "Individual Liberties". I'm going to do what I can to preserve my own rights and freedom and that of my pro-freedom family and friends, but I'll be damned if I fight the fight on behalf of this guy or steer one of the few remaining "liberty teeth" AR rifles into his hands. Not gonna happen. But despite my telling him so repeatedly, he's been pestering me about it all day.

Five gets you ten that if and when such a ban passes, this is the Quisling who will anonymously report me for owning weapons in defiance of the ban even though he has no idea about what I own or have owned or will own then. He's just that kind of bitter spoiled man-child. And knowing him, he'll have one tucked under his own bed even as he makes that call naming me and other proud gun owners that we work with.

"Useful idiots" indeed. Obama never could have gotten elected or re-elected without them. Sadly, the rest of us will likely pay the price forever, but that's also partly our fault for letting them do it.

  1. Your co-worker probably wouldn't like the fact that I always refer to Dear Leader as "that limo-riding, dacha-owning, Marxist-communist piece of shit" when my endlessly BOB neighbor starts spewing drivel.

  2. Good reasons why you should be careful who you 'leak' information to.

  3. Those people are the worst, typical liberals don't accept responsibility for anything. If there turns into a confiscation, I can see people like that *narc* ing on their neighbors to curry favors with the current administration. Especially with the cult of personality that is developed for the obamamessiah.

  4. You could help him, at his cost, and help him find magazines, too. That way you would know where 2 of them could found if you really needed them.

  5. You are correct. Dang it.

  6. Build him a cheap one, but charge him for an actual lower as labor. This way you have a lower that is registered in his name, plus you have something to blackmail him with. He reports you, they find his lower. I guess this is how Nazi Germany worked...just my idea. Whatcha think?

  7. Good for you - People should experience the consequences of their actions. Far too little of that today, sadly.

Maybe you could suggest he get a Biden approved double barrel shotgun? Since any forthcoming legislation will solve the gun violence problem so that it "never happens again"... surely a capacity of two rounds would be sufficient for self defense?

As an added bonus, he could also hunt Wascally Wabbits with it - which is the only Liberally Approved use for firearms anyway.

  8. I'd be tempted to go to your human relations and tell them he keeps talking about big black scary guns.....

  9. +1 on Duke... Sigh... And they DO come out of the closet on a regular basis...

  10. Buy the lowers yourself. Keep them, or sell them, he can't have them. Or sell them to him and gouge him badly.

  11. Send him to someone that'll mess it up so bad they won't shoot and won't be worth anything.
Wait. Actually, I think I'd enjoy it more just telling him "No" again and again and again... ...

  12. @ ED: I am having fun telling him no, this is true. Like a little kid, the more he gets denied, the more he comes back and whines. Sadly, it's gotten him far here at work. Well, that and EEO lawsuits every time he doesn't get his way.

  13. Screw him and all the rest of the jackasses. I'm with you, "What part of No Means No do you not understand?"

  14. Uh, just no. +1 on Six.

Your last comment just put everything into place. I understand now.

  15. I have another take on your coworker.
He could be a government agent. If he can get you to purchase the lower receivers and transfer them to him after they are built up you could be seen to be dealing firearms without a license. ATF has gotten convictions on a lot less.

  16. I think you're making it too comfortable for him. I'd be of a mind to put his hypocrisy in giant neon lights for the whole workplace to know about. The guy you describe is so over-the-top that I'd swear you made him up as a stereotype, except that I've met the same guy down in Florida, too and I know they exist.

  17. @ Thomas: I assure you, he's real. And everyone in the place knows what his deal is. His is the car out in the parking lot with all of the "Obama" stickers on it in a workplace where 90%+ of the people are openly conservative and he's totally incompetent but almost impossible to fire so everyone just deals with him as best we can.

@ fatfred: No, he's no government agent. He's just an idiot and he's been here over ten years.

You really need to start taping all of the gun related discussions with him and then turn his socialist ass in to human resources. Put a webcam in your cubicle. That's total B.S. I would not have been as nice/ nonviolent as you were..

  19. Has it ever occurred to you this gent is actually hoping to make you do something illegal to get the reward from the ATF?

That is what I'd think he was after if he was a Obamaite.

  20. Another idea..

Tell the loser to write Obama and maybe he will give him two ARs.

You know, with hope and change.

  21. @ Paul: Nah, he's just a jerk. Known him for ten years. Dishonest and hypocritical to the core, but mostly harmless.

  22. I seriously would tell HR he keeps pestering you to get him a pair of unregsitered, off-the-books, "assault rifles", despite your repeatedly refusing and insisting he stop asking.

Bonus if you have recordings, as ShallNotBeInfringed suggested.

  23. Build him one, remove the firing pin, and don't tell him.
Whatever happens to him after that, is just enough for me...
