Look what's for sale: An F-86 Sabre!
F-86 Sabre for sale.
Well I was wanting something a bit faster and more aerobatic than my Cessna. That might just fit the bill.
Not wild about the paint job, but it looks like it'd be a great flyer.
Yeah, I may have to talk to the man down at the bank about that one.
I've always loved the look of the F86. They look better in bare aluminum, though. No room for luggage or passengers, though, is there?
ReplyDeleteHeh. The paint job has definitely got to go. Not sure what they were thinking,
ReplyDelete@ Bob: All I need is room for an overnight bag and a German Shepherd. Maybe a gun rack, too. But then again, with six .50 cal MG's factory standard, I could be flexible on the gun rack.
ReplyDeleteAnybody ever see Bob Hoover do the "86 dance"?
ReplyDeleteIf not, here's a YouTube video made from old 16mm film taken in the early 60's.
It's a little blury, but it show "the man" doing what no one else can come near.
Ignore the commercial, watch full screen and turn on speakers cause the music ain't bad.

Install blivets. You can pack a ton of stuff in them. But not the dog.
ReplyDeleteBe fun to be a gazillionair and be able to afford fuel and maintenance on this great aircraft.
And you thought standard avgas was expensive? Ah well, if you can afford the plane, I guess the fuel is a secondary concern.
ReplyDeleteNever mind. ;^)
No money down, no payments for ninety days...what's not to like?
ReplyDeleteI can see you in the cockpit
