And upbound through the lock we see the Interlake bulk carrier Hon. James L. Oberstar. (Formerly the Charles M. Beeghly, and Shanango II)

Originally launched in 1959 as a 710' straight-deck steamship, she's now an 806' self-unloader with a diesel powerplant. She's still a classic and a well-known laker that'll hopefully ply the lakes for decades to come.
