"I Wuv Yoo!"

Having Belle around the house reminds me of what Murphy was like when I first took him in: clingy, needy, and always in my face. Only with Belle, I have to add "licky" to the list of adjectives. Belle is the lickiest dog I've ever had, and she'll run up with the slightest provocation and start licking my face no matter whether I'm sitting at my computer desk, trying to watch TV or nap on the couch, or awakening from a dead sleep too close to the edge of my bed. It I stir or make eye contact, here she comes at a run, tongue locked and loaded.

She also still has a bit of a jealousy issue with me petting or playing with Murphy, but that's getting better. Originally she'd try to shove right in between he and I, knocking him right out of the picture, but I've got her broken of that for the most part and now she'll sit off to the side and just wait for me to pet or play with her in turn, which is fine.

Now if I can just get her to quit licking me, I'll be a happy two-dog guy indeed.
"I got something for ya!"

Aw, hell. I'm still happy.

  2. Enjoy it or at least get accustomed to it, I think she's figured out you are not in a position to run away......

  3. @ Rev. Paul: Not when you consider that when Lagniappe was a new dog, he bit me, and Murphy was a constant Alpha challenge for months. This problem I can deal with.

Miss Belle has a great home with a great friend Murphy and a great owner.

  6. Our little one does the same thing.

Constantly follows me around, licks me every chance she gets, and always comes to MY side of the bed at 0245 to wake me up so she can be let out.

Oh, well....there's much worse things in life, I suppose....

  7. If you're successful, post instructions. Oscar, the only other male in the house, loves to climb on the back of my recliner and lick the top of my head. (Full disclosure, I'm folliclly challenged.) Drives me batty! I shoosh him off the chair and resume what I was doing. 5 minutes later, he's back. Other than that, he's a great dog.

  9. Well if there is one thing I can say about this new sweet dog of yours, it's that she knows how to bring out the kinder gentler side of you...." "I Wuv Yoo"????
Be careful....pretty soon, you just might voluntarily be sharing your peanuts/beer/steak and then *gasp*, next she'll be sleeping on the couch and then in your bed. Not that there's anything wrong with that....;-)

Here, the boy dog (aka the lummox) is big, happy and stupid. The girl dog is jealous whenever the boy dog gets attention, like barking until you stop.
    It's a dog's life...
