Snowed in.

The snow's down heavy, but I re-stocked on groceries last night, so there's not much to do other than read books, cook chicken, watch John Wayne's Hondo whip up on the Indians (or "Native Americans" as my public-school nephew insists on calling them) and just nap in the living room as the wind howls and the stove glows.
And the dogs have this "napping" thing down cold.
They were out in the snow for a while earlier. It's fascinating how a fresh snow turns them both into pups as they chase each other around the pen. Then they tracked most of that snow back inside. Murphy knows to wait and let me towel him off but Belle? Not so much.

Now if I can just get Belle to stop sneaking up on me and licking my face every chance she gets when I'm napping. I really hate it and try to discourage it but she shows no sign of ever stopping. But if it's her worst habit, I'll guess I'll take it. (Yuk!)

  1. Be thankful she's a shepard. It took me quite a while to break Bear, our newfie from doing that.

One kiss and your entire face was wet. Waking up feeling like your drowning makes in next to impossible to get back to sleep.

  5. Sub-zeros overnight and low teens for highs today here in MI. (geez, that sounds like something you'd hear in a medical marijuana lounge!) Will you get the Polar Vortex over there after we do?

    1. We've got it. Single-digit temps, not normal for this area. I don't mind, but many of these houses weren't built for these temps outside, and mine is one of them.

I say enough of this globull warming.
Tell your nephew that as he was born in America it makes him a Native American.
    But Indians are Indians
