M-16/AR-15 Lubrication Guide

While getting ready for a fast-approaching class, I found this nifty chart for M-16 and AR-15 lubrication over at and for lack of a more original post, I figured I'd share it with those of you who own and shoot these rifles. I suspect that there are a few among my dozen or so readers.

Ready to rock on this end. But then again, every firearms owner always cleans and properly lubricates his or her weapon after every shooting session or every six months without use, right?

  1. Some of us do... :-)

  2. Hey Murphy;

    Thanks for the information....I used to use "Rem-oil for many years and still do. SOme people swear by dry graphite lube...but I use what has worked for me for many years. And I only use a light coat.

  3. I use Strike-Hold, a product I sold a few years ago.

    There are many good products out there. The thing is, finding how much and how often to use it is a bit of a chore.

    Thanks for the tips

  5. I've got plenty of good old CLP in the mancave should a tune up be needed!

  6. Thanks Murph! I'll try that as soon as I get one assembled =)
