Ever Vigilant

Nice dogs play peacefully in their pens because rough dogs stand ready to visit violence on those who would do them harm.

Murphy's come a long ways from the mauler that he was when I took him in, but he is still awfully protective of "his" Memphis Belle. I've noticed that while she romps in the pen and takes care of her dog business, Murphy is usually watching out through the fence, on alert. He never bothered with that when it was just him in there, but now that she's in there he's become quite the guardian.

Good dog, Murphy.
