One Of These Guns Is Not Like The Others.

One of these things is not like the others,
One of these things just doesn't belong,
Can you tell which thing is not like the others
By the time I finish my song?

Clockwise from upper left: Smith and Wesson Model 66, Smith and Wesson Model 13, Smith and Wesson Model 19, Smith and Wesson Model 10

Bonus points to anyone who gets it before Tam comes along and solves it.

Edited: No, it's NOT color. We don't discriminate here at Lagniappe's Lair.

  1. 3 are K frames, and one is an L frame. And one has a nice set of S and W wooden grips...

    1. Sorry Jesse--they're all K-frames. And the grips aren't part of it, either

  2. Your model 13 seems to be missing a pin...

    1. Actually that's the Model 10 down in the lower left corner with the crush-fit barrel. I had them labeled wrong because I don't pay attention to detail. Corrected now, but no, that's still not it. Good eye though.

  3. They all are 3 screw side plates apart from one that is 4 screw earlier model K frame.

    1. THERE we go.

The Model 10 is a .38 Special. The rest are .357 Magnums. I knew that she'd come by and spot that. Good guesses everyone else.

  5. PS: Some of your revolvers seem to have icky black stuff covering the wood. :p

    1. Don't hate on the Pachmayr now. ;-)

Granted it's ugly but it's functional. And those three ex-police revolvers all came that way. I just haven't gotten around to tracking down some nice walnut for them yet.

    2. It's just sheer S&W geekery. Knowing the model numbers is like baseball fans knowing batting averages; rote memorization of meaningless trivia. ;)

  7. I should have caught that. Daggonnit. Iwill go look in the storage when I get a chance... I may have some walnut to suit.

  8. The Model 10 and the Model 13 are the same just the 10 is in 38spl i used to have a model 13 loaded with Hy Velosity 38 HP as my shop gun when i worked in my local firearms dealers of couse being the UK we were not allowed to carry but local plod would have prefured us not to be held up and robbed during working hours which is why i had the 13 and the boss a 9mm Hi Power plus we had a PumpAction with a speed loader just inside the Armory where nobody could go who did not work for us.
