Dogs for sale...cheap!

So I came home from work this morning to discover that Murphy and Belle now apparently like macaroni and cheese, so much so that they grabbed a bag containing two dozen boxes of it that was sitting on a chair in my kitchen and shredded and scattered 18 of those boxes all over my kitchen and living room. Two rooms are now covered with a crunchy carpet of macaroni noodles and no small amount of cheese powder.

W. T. F??!!

This, times 18:

I hate them.

So, knowing the behavior of your dogs and knowing that they will surrender to temptation, you willing left the Mac & Cheese where they could get to it?
Your Honor, I move to dismiss the case against my clients as this was entrapment. The Plaintiff was well aware of how my clients would behave and chose to set them up.

    1. Concur.
The chihuahua puppy and the kitten have an ongoing conspiracy wherein the kitten picks up loose wrapped cough drops (presumably as a toy) and drops them on the floor, where the puppy locates them and starts chewing - only to discover she isn't fond of camphor and menthol! At least it's mostly one-at-a-time, not by the bag!

    3. OK, first of all...MY kitchen. MY bag of food...and I forgot that I left it there, but MINE.

What we have here is a complete lack of respect for the law.

  2. As the judge in this case, I must agree with gunfreezzone. Clearly a case of entrapment.

  3. At least you have wood floors and don't have to clean up the carpet.

AND Belle looks repentant in the photo. Murphy seems to be rather proud of his accomplishment.

    1. Oh, she's repentant now. She's been sick all day. But Murphy has the constitution of a goat, so he's fine.

  5. Maybe they are rebelling and showing their disgust for Kraft for just having laid off 2500 workers.
By the way, why are you eating that processed crap anyway? Those pups did you a huge favor.

    1. I don't eat it much, but being cheap and non-perishable, it's part of my emergency food stash.

  11. Apparently what the dogs found tasty on the Kraft macaroni and cheese boxes were the bags of cheese. During clean-up of the mess, I noticed that, while the dried noodles were scattered pretty much everywhere, all of the cheese bags had been torn open and licked clean. They came for the cheese.

And aside from the initial orgy of destruction that took place in the kitchen and spilled out into the living room hall, four shredded boxes--minus the cheese packs--were found around Murphy's dog bed, indicating that he took one box back to his bed to devour at his leisure, and then he returned to the kitchen three more times for a new box.

Likewise, the remains of three others were found next to the patio window, behind my chair, in the place where Belle likes to nap, so apparently she made multiple returns to the scene of the crime as well. These boxes were opened a bit neater than the ones by Murphy's bed. Murphy totally destroyed the boxes and scattered the macaroni but Belle just tore one end off of each box and left the macaroni pretty much alone. In both cases, the cheese was the obvious desired prize.

Adding to the fun: as much as I needed my sleep, Belle woke me about every two hours, begging to go outside. Apparently too much cheese is not a good thing, at least for her.

  17. They will always come for the cheese. Always.

I can hear the mess from here.
