I think I'm going to like Louisiana
Since announcing that I'm moving there next month, I've been contacted by half a dozen really nice people, all relatively local, offering to help me and the dogs settled in and acclimated. To me, that speaks volumes about the sort of great people who live there and read this blog. I've heard from lawyers, pilots, shooters and professionals in my own industry, and the welcome has been greatly appreciated by me to say the least.
Two of them have blogs, and great blogs at that. Check them out here and add them to your daily reads list.

Yeah, as much as I'm going to miss my friends up north--and you know who you are--I think that I'm going to like this new gig. And of course all of my "Yankee" friends will be welcome and encouraged to visit often.

Welcome to Louisiana. The gun-friendliest state in the nation. Where will you be settling?
ReplyDeleteWelcome, indeed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. If anyone swings by, I have a new post in the workings that I will likely post this evening.
What's not to like about New Orleans? (I mean apart from that whole attempted mugging thing.)
ReplyDeleteJust remember that Yankees who come south have to bring gifts - given your background in Detroit some good kielbasa z rozna or kabanosy would be appreciated....
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing you and the dogs in the new place. Never been there.
ReplyDeleteLOL, this could get 'interesting'...
ReplyDeleteAgree. I've been thinking for years that an Ark-La-Tex blog-meet would be awesome.
DeleteWell maybe we'll have to set up a blog shoot in the near future.
DeleteCome to Texas some day. We ain't that far from where you will be.
ReplyDeleteSince you are not bringing the wrecked Cessna, perhaps you could consider getting a plane with water capability:

Cheap! Well, to start with:

another cheap one, although small:

OUCH! Not cheap! Looks like a Seabee:

Wrecked Cessna? Did I miss something?
