Frustration...

It's a beautiful day outside. The sun is shining and it's temperate. Ship horns can be heard on the Mississippi River. The French Quarter is filled with visitors and street performers and all of the stores and galleries and parks are open.

Meanwhile, I'm down with yet another open sore on my leg, so I sit here immobile in my house, just a few blocks away. I can't walk again, not even to one of the several nearby restaurants. I can't cut the grass, or move furniture that needs moving. I can't do a damned thing.

I've been here a week now in this place that I've dreamed of moving to for so long and I've gone nowhere and seen nothing. I've made it to work three days out of five, and the rest of the time I sit around my house like a mouse in a box, contemplating all of the projects that I can't even start.

This sucks.

  1. Oh, man.....THAT SUCKS!

Hope the leg heals soon, as I know you were really looking forward to enjoying your time there.

I've never been in NOLA, but I'm willing to bet I'd enjoy it.

Except for the crawfish.....NO crawfish will ever be consumed by me!

    1. No crawfish? Dude! There is more than one way to eat crawfish. Etoufee, jambalaya, gumbo, the list goes on and on. Crawfish is good food. My lady's crawfish fetuccini is to die for.

    2. It's not really won't eat them as much as it is I can't eat them.

Doesn't matter if it's shrimp, lobster, crawfish, fresh water or salt water, if I eat them, I get sick.

And it's not a nice sight!

  2. Sorry, man. Can you hook up with any of the old LA blogging community to come for a visit? Kelly Grayson or Xavier?

  3. Damn. Keep off of it as much as you can and let it heal so you can get back in action. You over-stressed it big time during the move. Hang in there, and I hope it heals up quickly.

  4. That truly sucks; sorry, dude. But like they said, give yourself a chance to heal.

  5. I know these are not easy words to listen to, but this will pass. Patience now will deliver the good times later...Hope it heals quickly...

  6. Dang. But since you are the most patient person in the world it won't really get to you. Oh, wait...

  7. Dang! Sorry dude. You need to slow down ya know. I have told you before and now say again. You have two speeds. "Off" and "On". Moderation Sir!

  9. Bummer. Hope you find that adjustable throttle between "off" and "on". Hope you heal quickly.

  10. I hate to hear that you're going through the lesions issues on your leg again. That isn't good, I hope the prosthetics fit is still good and not the cause of the problem. I'd like to hear when your settled in and all healed up. I love NOLA and had thought I might retire down there. If a meet and greet with some area bloggers came about I'd rent a nice room and drive down in a heartbeat.

    1. It's a fairly new leg. I just tore it up with too much lifting and carrying. All those 96lb. cases of .30M2 ammo did me in. But count on a blog shoot down here this fall, soon as I can find a range and set some stuff up.

    2. There's an indoor range in Harahan. Can't remember the name, though.
