Yesterday was a dull day. Stayed home and watched the unpacking crew from the moving company come over and unbox all of my
excess junk personal property. Kept the leg off and didn't walk a bit. Went to work today, had a meeting way out in Lafayette and rode with my new boss, so much face time was had. Now I'm going back home to see the dogs, and with any luck, tomorrow I will get out to see the Battlefield at Chalmette, where, during the War of 1812, the British were trounced soundly by
General Andrew Jackson, the Pirate
Jean Lafitte, and
Old NFO. Those poor British. They never really had a chance.
Oh--and yesterday, I counted 14 chickens in my driveway. And this morning I saw a beautiful rooster on the next block as I headed in to work. Again...WTF?
And yes, Belle is up to her old tricks. yesterday, as the movers were leaving, I was outside talking to them and suddenly Belle ran up and sat down next to me like she was supposed to be part of the conversation. Screw it--I'm just giving her a key to the front door.
But I was walking today. Getting better. Yay!
Glad to hear that everyone is getting settled in. Sigh... Now I need to go to NOLA.
ReplyDeleteHey Murphy;
ReplyDeleteWell Murph went from feral cats to feral chickens....How is he handling the transition? Glad you are going to see where Old NFO achieved Immortality;)
Yay!
ReplyDeleteGood news - I can only imagine the hijinks between German shepherds and chickens in your future.
ReplyDeleteWe will be expecting photos of the Old NFO statue.
ReplyDeleteWhat? There isn't one? Travesty!
Thanks for the good news. Things will get better and better now.
ReplyDeleteLook at it this way, there is the possibility of free eggs, from free range chickens!
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear things are progressing and you are improving!
ReplyDeleteAs the Indians said, 'How does one clear a rock slide? One rock at a time.'
Sounds like you are settling in. I see free eggs in your future as well!
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Old NFO was at the battle, but my mother had kinfolks there. - Glad you're getting settled in.
ReplyDeleteIf he wasn't there, it's only because President Madison had him doing something else.
DeleteWhen you go, you gotta have Johnny Horton's "Battle of New Orleans" playing in the background. A song from very long ago, my youth actually.
ReplyDeleteFair Winds,
Cap'n Jan
