Third day

Now she wags her tail when I come in the house. And she's coming out of her crate every now and again, usually to follow me around the house. And today, I got my first licks on my hand.
And this morning, as I was sitting on the couch getting ready for work, she walked over and climbed up to sit next to me, casual as you please.

  1. She's probably got all the drugs out of her from her surgery, and realizes she's HOME.

    With FAMILY.

God bless you, Murph, for stepping up like this.

  5. Hey this is Stacy - Mike's wife. Thanks for choosing her she looks like an Angel. Our little 3 legged guy Baker is missing his left back leg. Based on advice from our vet and other 3 legged owners we keep Baker very lean. Almost but not quite where you can see his ribs. To help him feel full he gets a little over a cup of frozen green beans with each meal. He chows it all down - no problem. He was only 4 months old when he lost his leg and when we got him he grew so fast he couldn't support the weight. He really struggled for about 6 months but when summer came he rehabbed himself in the pool and is a muscled up maniac!! We do have to be careful with the pads on the remaining back leg. In fact right now he has a little sore from chasing our other dog around the pool on the pebbly pool deck. I wish you the best of luck with her. I love it when you post pics of the dogs!!

  7. Good on Ya for taking care and caring. In the third picture you're getting the same look I get from our mutt. I can't figure out if she's just adoring me or thinking "What is that damn fool going to do next?"

  8. Yup, you're a good man my friend. A prince among men, and yes I'll deny ever saying that.

    1. Getting old, Boss-man? :)

And, yes, it takes a good soul for a hurt dog to mellow out that quickly.
