Sigh...

So I'm making dinner and Murphy starts to beg. This is an annoying habit that he's developing despite my refusal to ever hand him anything.

Wouldn't you know it, but just as soon as I tell him "no" with a firm voice, I go and drop a fair-sized portion of the food on the floor literally right into his waiting mouth.

Right now, he's probably noting in his "English to Dog" dictionary that "No! Aw, Dammit!" really means "Thank you for your patience. This is for you."

  1. Ooooh! I need me one of those dictionaries!

You're fighting a losing battle, says the mother of the Lab that was never to get on the furniture and now has blankets or throws on most of the furniture to catch shedded hair and resist scratches.

You've been nominated over at Moogie's World!

  2. If you figure out how to cure him of begging, I'm sending mine to you for a little training!
And with Nicky, a little training is all one can hope for!! :):)

  3. Barkley is terrified of the hardwood floor, or tile. Don't ask me why. So dining in the room with said surface usually restricts the begging to a long forlorn look from the family room some distance away. I'm waiting, however for him to learn semiphore code and wave little flags at me that say "feed me some people food dammit".

  4. Ha Ha!!...I thought my dog was the only one who can do the Darth Vader trick where he wills the popcorn to fall out of my hand and it does...., it's scary that they can do that.
