A day off...so what to do?

Murphy seems to have a suggestion. Here he is, coming up out of the basement, leash in his mouth.Look what I found! Take me walking!

So it's off to the dog park, just me and Murphy and the ball-whipping thing that can hurl a tennis ball forever.
OK already...you can throw it any time. I'm not getting any younger waiting.

So I threw the ball, and Murphy ran out and got it, bringing it back to me time, and time and time again.This never gets old! Throw it again!

Finally we stopped, as he was panting like a mad fool. We found a shady spot and lie in the grass together, just savoring the day.Mmmmmmmmmm......Happy dog!

Then it was off to explore the rest of the park. Now I confess that I haven't had Murphy out anywhere off-leash in about a year because he's always been such an ass about it, running off and refusing to come back when called. But that was last year. This time, he walked alongside me the whole time, and if I whistled or called him, he came right to me. Frankly, it's times like this that make me glad to have a dog...and proud to have this one.

But with Murphy, there's always something else. Look! a slide!He climbed the slide on command a few times, but always changed his mind at the top, turning around and walking back down instead of taking the more traditional route down. Can't really say as I blamed him.
Then it was off to go play on a nearby bandstand.Look at me! I'm a star!

After all that, it was time for another nap in the shade.What could make this day any better?

Of course! a cookie! My human is the best human ever!

Yeah, and I've got a pretty good dog, too.
