Let us be Thankful

So today, while the turkey cooks, I decided to spend some time reflecting on what I'm thankful for this year.

I'm thankful that I live in the greatest nation on earth.

I'm thankful for my pal, Murphy, even though he is an asshole sometimes.

I'm thankful that I have a job, even if I do hate it.

I'm thankful for that turkey in the oven.

I'm thankful that I have a standard of living higher that most of the people on this planet.

I'm thankful for all of my internet friends who come read and occasionally comment here every day. If you're reading this (and if you're not a tool) I'm thankful for you.

I'm thankful for my health.

I'm thankful for my friends and family back up in Michigan.

I'm thankful for attractive women.

I'm thankful for my freedom, and the rights enshrined in my country's Constitution.

I'm thankful that Obama will be gone for good in January of 2017, and if we still have a free country left, I'll be thankful for that then.

Beer. I'm thankful for beer, too. Already had three this morning, so triple thankful?

I'm thankful that I don't have to go Black Friday shopping since I found a cool new holiday gift website, socksandscarves.com. My holiday shopping's done.

I'm thankful for religious freedom so that I can openly worship the God who gave us everything that we are or should be thankful for.

I'll add more later as they come to me. But you...what are you thankful for?

  1. Not to be flippant, I'm thankful every morning I wake up and can get out of bed. Everything after that is a bonus.

  2. huntwildrose.com might be a better source for gifts for your range friends though, or Cabellas, or Scheele's, or Gander Mountain.....

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  8. I'm thankful for all of the above that pertain to me.

And I'm also thankful for my wife, who is my soulmate, partner and the love of my life; and who, this very Thanksgiving evening, agreed to be the designated driver for the trip back from her brother's place in New Jersey, so that I could freely imbibe in my brother-in-law's scotch so as to ameliorate the severe allergic reaction to the felines who reside in the household.
