Got bread?

Today I bought a loaf of bread.

I set that loaf of bread on top of the coffee maker up on the kitchen counter.

How Murphy got it down from there, I'll never know, but this is my loaf of bread after I left the house for ten minutes to talk to a neighbor:
Found on his rug, by the door.

Damn dog.

  1. Uh, oh! Now how in the hell did he do that?

  2. Sorry but you'll get no sympathy from me. All bread, no salami, no cheese, no brown mustard? And no beer to wash it down? That's cruel treatment!

  3. Hey, he left his Kong in trade. The fact that you were not there to approve of said trade is not, technically, his fault.

  4. Either he sprouted wings, or he's an excellent climber.

  5. Oh man, 'somehow' you need to break him of that... Just sayin...

  6. I had to get a breadbox to defeat my dog. I don't know why they like it so much but they do.

I thought the stupid animal would die of diabetic shock after eating a box of 18 doughnuts.

Funny thing is he doesn't like pie dough. If he gets one he always leaves the rind.

  8. I'm thinking his nose oriented him and then it was just a matter of a spring and snatch. Such a smart dog.

  9. Dude. When are you going to realize that not only do you have a smart dog with problem solving skills that also likes to be a turd?

  10. Chloe can jump higher than a kitchen counter. It is obvious that Murphy can do the same if given the opportunity. Might I suggest putting all edibles out of his reach like on top of the fridge.

Now if he learns how to open the fridge, all bets are off.

  11. @ Old NFO: yeah. Any idea what I could try for that? ;-P
@ Sport Pilot: I know. I could set a cheeseburger down on the couch in front of him and leave the room and he would not touch it, but if I leave the house so much as to get the mail, he's in the fridge, up on my bed, and using my computer to look at doggie porn.

  12. Try some of that hippie, free range, weird grain no one's ever heard of, tastes like cardboard bread. If that doesn't work I suggest 6 foot cabinets. Then again, he is one smart dog...

  13. You need to store it in the microwave if you want it room temp. It is the only way to keep some food from our ravenous (yeah, right) wolves...

Now, if he learns to open the microwave, you've got yourself some serious problems.

  14. My bigger dog is a counter cruiser too. She can reach all the way to the back and get stuff down, then the smaller guy helps her eat it.

I regularly see this very scene right in the middle of my living room when we've been out for more that, oh... say five minutes. I have to stash stuff in the microwave to keep it safe.

    Damn dogs.

Oh, wait. You already said that.
