After the Civil War, Union Veteran John Henry, played by John Wayne, tries to move a herd of three thousand horses across the country to the Mexican government. He runs into ex-Confederate James Langdon, who is leading a band of displaced Southerners to a new start in Mexico. At odds with each other, the two groups eventually have to come together to fend off bad guys and Mexican revolutionaries alike in The Undefeated (1969).
That one is a real classic!
