I have a shadow.

Thunderstorming now, and Belle is practically attached to my feet.

Murphy? No fear or concern there. He's snoozing on his dog bed, oblivious. But poor Belle...she's not happy.

Meanwhile, down the block, my neighbor who sits around collecting welfare for a sham medical condition--he claims that Eczema on his hands won't let him work--just spent some of that welfare cash to buy himself a new Confederate flag, which he proudly hung up outside his house yesterday. Apparently the Eczema didn't keep him from putting up his new flagpole.

  1. That problem of his might actually be an allergy to Aspartame.

Eats away the skin of the hands and feet. I used to leave bloody finger prints if I consumed too much of that crap. Like one diet soda or tea a day. Makes getting useful prints near impossible. Took CHP 18 months of regular printing before they got a set that the FBI would accept.

Even now, if I drink a regular sugar soda, it has enough cross contamination from the production system that the effects will show in a day or so. I have to avoid ANY food product that has a sugar-free version that uses Aspartame.

Doctors have no clue about it. Not on their radar. If I consumed lots of Aspartame products, it would leave me crippled until I stopped. Doctors prescribed steroid creams for twenty years for "flareups", until a nephew encountered the same problem when he started drinking diet sodas, and made the connection.

    1. Far as I can tell, my neighbor's "debilitating" condition has never stopped him from hunting, hiring out as a local handyman's helper for cash or regularly cutting deadfall wood that he again sells for cash. It apparently just keeps him from having to go to a regular job every day.

  2. Feed her a half cup of beer.....maybe less.... Won't hurt her, but will make her sleep.

Worked on several dogs I have known that had issues with thunderstorms or fireworks.

My vet said it was as good as anything he could prescribe.

    1. Probably not bad advice, but she's not that bad off. No shaking or whining or aimless pacing...she just wants to be right next to dad. Normally she's not this clingy, but otherwise she seems to be doing ok.

  5. Like your neighbor, I have been thinking about claiming chronic back pain for SSI. That way I can get a Cadillac and eat steak every day on the government dime. I could brag that Obama takes me out to dinner every day. Gubbermint cheese. Gotta love 'em.
