Oops.

So at my new church today, there was a congregational dinner, and at the dinner we were divided up into teams to play a game of Jeopardy. And all going quite well until it landed on our team again. The subject that we picked was "Commercial Questions" and the question--for $500--was: What is Samuel L. Jackson known for asking?"

No one could think of it. We all looked at each other. I could think of a couple, but didn't think they were right for this group, which included a lot of kids. But the clock was running out. Five seconds. we had to have an answer. Three seconds. I spoke up.

"Uh, What does Marcellus Wallace look like?"

Wow it got quiet in there fast.

I guess that's one way to lose $500 with style. Apparently he also does or did commercials for Capital One card where he asks "What's in your Wallet?"

Right answer:

My answer (wrong answer):

Of course after the game, a few people came up to me and told me that they were thinking the same thing. They just didn't shout it out.

I'm thinking that if Alex Trebek was running this game instead of our minister, he'd have at least allowed it.

  4. Lmao! It's the same answer I thought of. Never would have considered the "right" answer.

    Still, pretty darn halarious!

  9. Had something similar happen to me years ago. The question was, "Night of the...?"

We cheerfully yelled out, "Living Dead!"

The correct answer was, "Iguana." We did not get credit.
