And just because, we had a small neighborhood second-line parade with a brass band...for the dogs.
Murphy: "Wanna go?"
Belle: "Sure!"
And there were dog treats at the various bars we marched to (and drinks for the humans), and food for the humans at the end. And Murphy being Murphy, he helped himself to one other person's hot dog when she set it on the table, because that's still how he rolls.
Hey Murphy;
ReplyDeleteYep that is how he rolls. Looks like the dogs and you had a good time. New Orleans seems to suit you and the dogs.
Hey Murphy;
ReplyDeleteLooks like you and the dog are doing well in New Orleans and yes, Murphy will do what he does...
So a "Second Line" parade is off the main street, on the side streets, right?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's a small parade that follows a band (Usually a brass band) which, along with the actual parade organizers, is the first line. Everyone behind the band--the rest of the folks who are just there for the music and fun--are the second line. Don't matter what streets it's on, but if you want it on the main streets, you need to pay the police department for an overtime detail to block traffic.
DeleteLOL, I would expect nothing less of him!
ReplyDeleteI just saw something on the news about tons of New Orlean's "bling" that they throw off floats in the parades being dredged up out of the sewers. Reading about the dog parade made me wonder if they got any bling, but other than "new outfits" I didn't see any. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey each got one. Give them too much and they start getting tangled in it.
DeleteWith Murph you snooze you lose
ReplyDeleteFun! LOL on Murphy. Land of opportunities, you know. Can't fault him for seeing one.
ReplyDeleteMurphy is so funny....
