Lagniappe got a ton of toys, and what was cute was watching him as he determined by smell that one of the stockings under the tree was his. He then removed each of the individually-wrapped dog treats and toys from the stocking and unwrapped them one by one. He then took them into the next room and stacked them all in a neat little pile so that he could guard them all while playing with one or two of them. I swear that he's just like a little kid sometimes.
Aaron of The Shekel and I also got out and indulged in some machinegunning at the local gravel pit. There were quite a few people there with shotguns and rifles but when we opened up with our Uzi submachine guns, everyone had to stop shooting and come over to watch. We also did some shooting with our Remington 870 shotguns and my pair of H&K P7 pistols, expending about 1,200 rounds of ammunition between us, mostly with the Uzis. Good times, good times.
I also took my nephew Spud for a hike in the woods. His little 7 year old mind saw deers, bears and bobcats behind every tree of course. Fortunately he had his toy rifle to keep us safe.
Aside from that, I had a couple of Christmas dinners with family and friends and beat my old man at cribbage a time or two. (It's getting so much easier...)
Now it's back towards home in the morning. Lagniappe and I will be back on the road headed for home and we should be there tomorrow night. Then it's back to the daily grind of workouts, physical therapy, and pondering my future.
Hope you all had a good Christmas.
