Oh, and it should be noted that Athens is the husband of Democrat Senator Debbie Stabenow, (D)--MI, and according to at least one report, he actually drover her car to the rendezvous.
There are many interesting facts to be gleaned from this news story, including the facts that Mr. Stabenow was apparently driving on a suspended license in addition to soliciting a prostitute, and despite these two violations of Michigan law, he wasn't arrested on either charge while we all know that you or I would be, assuming that we did bad things like that. It's also interesting and somewhat sad that he was in and out of the whore's room in 15 minutes, including the time that nit took him to disrobe and get dressed again and conclude the financial negotiations. Casanova he's not.
But you really can't blame the guy. I mean, here he is with his wife. (Left)

Of course the big unasked question is whether he'd have strayed if Senator Debbie had offered him the services that "Kasey" did.

ReplyDeleteKeep in mind that Athens was just an aide to Stabenow and eleven years her junior until he decided to marry the boss and use her and her money as a stepping stone to the inner workings of the Democratic Party, including his post at the spectacularly-failed Air America network. It's pretty evident that their marriage, like that of Bill and Hillary, was largely a fiction designed to give him respectability that he couldn't otherwise get on his own and provide her with a new boy toy...sort of a fattish and unfunny Duece Bigalow.
