While roaming out and about, Lagniappe and I found this field full of Grumman S2 Trackers near St. Augustine, Florida. Naturally we spent an hour or so poking around them. If only my van had a trailer hitch...
Anyway... There are way too many photos of these aircraft to post here, so I set up a new page just to catalog them and do them justice. Please check in out at: http://s2trackers.blogspot.com/Who knows? Maybe someday I'll hear from someone who flew or serviced one or knows more about these planes.
A lot of history setting there. If only they could talk.
ReplyDeleteI've asked some guys I know on another forum to comment. One of them is an old salt who has been there and done that and has actual, real world experience with this aircraft.
ReplyDeleteLagniappe -- Feel free to share this with the guy who buys the dog food. One reason the Trackers are in their current condition.

I actually heard about a bit of this from one of the neighbors. He said that the guy who owned the lot had been ripping off the planes' owner and scamming parts off the planes for scrap. Thanks for the info!
