Dang. Everyone else beat me to the cone of shame comment.
Squirrel!
It might be fun to invent a new game by putting something on the cone right under his chin to see what kind of contortions he goes through get at it. Or maybe a strip of bacon on the rim above his eyes.
Ya gotta feel bad for them. The worst part is the dog is positive you're only making them wear it to be mean. "Maybe if I look pathetic enough he'll feel guilty enough to take it off." Trooper was a master of the 'poor little puppy' look. I see Murphy has it down pat.
Murphy has got the "poor, pitiful me - my Dad does not love me any more" look down pat. The bad thing is the cone only focuses the sad whimpers in your direction.
man that is the biggest cone of shame I have ever seen. It must bring a whole new level of challenge to rounding corners and passing through doorways with zero peripheral vision. Get well soon Murphy!
Doorways aren't good. I tried coaxing him into my office earlier today with a treat. He tried to walk into the room but hit his collar on the door frame and took it as a correction. He immediately backed off and began crying.
Oh poor Murphy.... he did get the cone of shame......
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets better soon.
Yes it appears that Murphy is a sad dog! How long does he have to wear the "cone of shame"?
ReplyDeleteCan he pick up MTV with that dish?
ReplyDelete@ Belle, Yep. I'll pass that along to him.
ReplyDelete@ Keads...Who knows? A week? Two? Until I beat him to death with a hammer because he won't stop whining?
@ North: I hope not. I don't want my dog watching MTV.
Stitches aren't placed where he can scratch them out with his claws, are they?

Reading the adventures of Murphy takes me back to some of the stupid things my chocolate lab Chip did when he was young.
ReplyDeleteBut Chip never had to wear the cone. Actually it's surprising he didn't.

ReplyDeleteHeh, poor boy! He's got that pitiful look down pat.
ReplyDeleteAW! Poor conehead!
ReplyDeleteScratch him, just the same.
I have pics of Kira with a cone on too - we used to call her Lampshade Puppy!! I think I shall now pass on the name to Murphy! ;)
ReplyDeleteI swear, they must all have that same pitiful "woe is me" look!

ReplyDeletePoor dumb dog. So sad.
Poor sad puppy! He needs ice cream (and a little spoon-feeding!)
