Saturday Man Movie

Today's Man Movie is Billy Jack (1971).

Lots of dull spots, but lots of good scenes, too.

You have the beginning scene were the bad rich guy and his posse trap a herd of wild horses on Indian land, and Billy Jack shows up, radiating cool.

Then there's the ice cream parlor scene where he shows up as Bernard the bad rich guy's son is bullying the kids that he watches over.

And of course there's the epic town fight.

The part where he makes cowardly Bernard drive a new Corvette into the lake is pretty good.

And then we have the scene where he confronts the crooked deputy, Mike.

He shoots Mike in the head later, after he kills Bernard. But they both had it coming, so it's all good.

I really shouldn't like the movie, because it is all peacenickity-hippiefied, but I can't help it. Tom Laughlin and Delores Taylor are nutty as squirrel crap politically but Billy Jack was cool, man.

Always wanted to kick someone in the right side of the head, with my left leg whilst standing in front of them, but could never master it.

  4. Must have seen that 500 times on TV as a kid! You clearly don’t understand Billy Jack’s philosophy. He only uses violence and killing to further his cause of peace and understanding. Plus, they were asking for it.
