More Shooting Stuff

Sunday afternoon, Aaron and I headed back down to the 340 Defense range to help with a promotional video that they're working on. We'd arranged to meet Keads there but wound up running quite a bit late and missed a chance to shoot with him again. My apologies, sir!

We shot a bit more, and we both entered into a competition set up by the range where about 30 people shot the steel dueling tree against each other in a contest where the top two shooters would take home a couple of nice prizes. Here's Aaron shooting--and winning--his first stage.
He did good.

I also shot it, entering at the last moment and proceeding somewhat carefully as my injured wrist was only out of it's brace for the second day. Both of us took early stages and advanced, eventually making it to the semi-final round, but then each of us basically knocked ourselves out with stupid little "lack of concentration" moments. And that's all it takes to let some other shooter go home with the goodies. Sigh. More practice, more practice...

But at least his Uzi was running well, which was more than could be said for mine on Saturday, as many at the blogshoot can attest.

I found out too late that since it's return from Vector, mine apparently doesn't like commercial-grade 9mm any more and will only function with +P stuff. Sigh...

  2. Yep, that was the good heat. Not too bad that the two of us tied for third. Next time we take it.
