Random canine observation

I've been watching Murphy for a couple of weeks now. Whenever he's excited or in the process of lying down, he always turns in circles. He'll stand by the door and turn in circles while waiting for me to come open it or see what's outside, and when he steps onto his dog bed--or when he's invited up onto my bed--he'll walk around in a circle once or twice before bedding down.

This is all well and good and unremarkable except for one fact: He ALWAYS turns to the right. Every time he turns a circle, it's always clockwise.

I have yet to see this dog turn to the left, even once. Even if I'm behind him on his left side and I summon him, he'll spin to the right to come to me.

OK, I know...I have no life. I need help. I get it.

But now that you've read this, I'll betcha that you watch your own dog for a while.

  3. McDuff (a Westie)always circles to the right too. His little pal Pepper (a Heinz terrier) is rather random.

  6. Chloe always rotates counter clockwise. Maybe it's a male - female dog thing.
