Saturday Man Movie

Once there was a time when people cheered cops who took care of business.

Today, people would line up to sue or cry that he's too militarized.

  1. Dirty Harry would never have worn a "body cam". And that's the point with police work. The net result of body cams is that the officer will finish lunch or the article that he's reading in the newspaper before he/she responds. Why would it go any other way when you consider the litigious nature of society?

  2. Did Eastwood get nominated for best supporting actor? The S&W Mod. 29 being the star, of course?

  3. "Too militarized"? Dirty Harry went around in plain clothes, no body armor and with a Smith Model 29. About the only way he could have been less militarized would be if he had worn a cocktail dress.

  4. The problem back then, was the people knew the courts were very lax and had a revolving door of justice and crime was out of control and the idea of a citizen carrying a gun defending themselves was pretty much unheard of. Society still overall was in the "leave it to Beaver" stage and the bad guys were in the "thunderdome" stage of society. Now it has changed;

    I agree with Comrade Misfit. He never wore jackboots, or hid his face with a mask or some such.
    He was usually just trying to enjoy a cup of coffee or eat a hot dog.
