Mistrial declared in trial of Officer William Porter in death of Freddie Gray
Now forget about any retrial. And free the other five defendants. And if the usual suspects start rioting and looting, just shoot them and put any survivors in prison for a few years.
I agree

ReplyDeleteWhile I agree, I don't expect such antics in The People's Republic of Maryland...

Won't happen. They've already scheduled a meeting to schedule the retrial.
ReplyDeleteThis result shows the necessity for a change of venue, if these trials are to proceed. A jury that can hear the mob chanting for the defendant's head is not going to hand up an impartial verdict.
They have so over charged and so tainted the jury pool that I think this is going to happen over and over again.
ReplyDeleteYour Honor, they said the jury was hung...and they was right.

That the jury deadlocked on all four counts should give pause to those who simply want a blue shirt to hang on their trophy wall. Reading the comments of the agitators, it was overwhelmingly obvious that the 'justice' they wanted for Freddy Gray would not be constrained by facts or reason, nor the deprivation of justice for Officer Porter.
