Justice denied in Philly. Celebrity Cop-Killer escapes death sentence

IN other news today, saying he wanted to avoid another three decades of appeals - and a new public forum for Mumia Abu-Jamal - Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams said today he will not seek another death sentence for convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. (The murderous thug formerly known as Wesley Cook.)

For those who are unfamiliar, Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner, 25 and newly married, was on patrol in Center City the night of Dec. 9, 1981 when, according to trial testimony, the officer pulled over a car driven by Abu-Jamal's brother, William Cook, at 13th and Locust Streets. Abu-Jamal, moonlighting as a cabdriver, recognized his brother's car, ran toward them and shot Faulkner, witnesses testified. A gunfight followed and Abu-Jamal was hit by a bullet from Faulkner's gun. He was found slumped on a curb.

What the news story cited doesn’t report is that the bullets taken from the body of Officer Faulkner were ballistically matched to the handgun found on the scene, a revolver that was registered to Wesley Cook/Abu-Jamal. There were also several eye-witnesses to the shooting, including people who knew Cook/Abu-Jamal on sight. In short, this case was as cut-and-dried as any case ever was. There really was no reasonable doubt, which was why the trial jury found him guilty.

But this being Philadelphia, the race-baiters and liberals quickly got involved. Abu-Jamal’s Black Panther associates began intimidating people and drumming up a publicity storm of lies and false accusations of a frame-up, and soon enough, numerous groups and self-important individuals like Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Mike Farrell jumped into the mix to proclaim this scumbag’s “innocence” and claim that the police, for no rational reason, fabricated the case against Abu-Jamal, despite the fact that he was found lying next to the police officer that had died from wounds caused by a bullet from his own gun, and that his own injury was caused by bullets from the officer’s gun, and that the entire gunfight had been witnessed by numerous people in broad daylight.

Since that conviction, every appellate court that reviewed the trial and the jury verdict has affirmed it No court has ever found fault with the trial, and the only issue has been whether the jury was given proper sentencing instructions, a minor technical point that had no bearing on Abu-Jamal’s actual guilt. Still, that was enough to cause his original sentence to be overturned, requiring a new sentencing and opening the door for an entirely new appeals process. So to that extent, I can at least see the reasoning behind this decision, but anyone who continues to proclaim this dirtbag’s innocence either has an ulterior motive or seriously needs a check-up from the neck up.

But now, thirty years after Abu-Jamal should have been dragged out back of the courthouse and summarily shot (in a Just world…), he’s now being re-sentenced to life without parole, his death sentence gone for good. He’ll doubtless continue to hold celebrity status in the eyes of those on the left, from Hollywood liberals to Obama pal Cornell West. But one can always hope that he’s quickly placed back into general population and with any luck, someone will shank him.

California Teachers Union worried about Pennsylvania Cop Killer

Yeah, that's right. Instead of focusing on how to better do their jobs (they get paid to educate the public's kids), the wanna-be agents of world change that make of the membership of the California Federation of Teachers is devoting their time and energy towards advocating for convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, the ghetto hood who murdered Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner in cold blood back in 1981.

Frankly I tire of hearing fools claim that this hood was "set up" and that he's really innocent. The facts in this case are about as cut-and-dried as any criminal murder case in history.
At roughly 3:50 a.m. on December 9, 1981, Officer Daniel Faulkner stopped the car of William Cook [corrected] on a street in Philadelphia. Cook is the brother of Abu-Jamal. Coincidentally, Abu-Jamal was parked nearby in a taxi he was driving. Upon seeing an altercation between Faulkner and Cook, Abu-Jamal ran across the street and shot Faulkner in the back. Faulkner was able to get a shot off at Abu-Jamal, seriously wounding him. With the wounded Faulkner on the ground, Abu-Jamal shot him in the head, killing him instantly.

At the time there were only three people in the immediate area of the crime: Faulkner, Abu-Jamal, and Cook. But others were nearby. Within minutes there were statements taken by separate police officers from several different witnesses who identified Abu-Jamal as the shooter. There were only two guns on the scene, Faulkner's and Abu-Jamal's. Ballistics show that the bullet in Abu-Jamal came from Faulkner's gun, and that those in Faulkner came from a gun like Abu-Jamal's. In the presence of a hospital security guard, Abu-Jamal shouted "I shot the m__f__r, and I hope the m__f__r dies."
Witnesses, physical evidence, his own statements...that's why he was sentenced to death and why no one but the American leftist subculture has ever doubted his guilt.

And by joining in that fight--and using union dues to do it--this bunch of teachers has declared themselves to be too stupid and too un-American to ever be allowed in a classroom with anybody's children.

But these retards go even further. They're actually lionizing Abu-Jamal as a "civil rights hero". Seriously.
Fred Glass, CFT spokesman, told TheDC that the even though the case is 30 years old, since Abu-Jamal is still going through appeals, the issue remains relevant.

“The delegates decided it was time to reiterate that they supported him due to the irregularities that they felt had taken place during his case,” said Glass. “They see this as a civil liberties issue, it is quite common for the CFT to take positions on broad social matters like this.”

Well I suppose that it's more satisfying than trying to, you know...teach, I guess.

Where else but in California do you have public servant school teachers calling the murderer of a public servant police officer a "hero", civil-rights or otherwise?

And the Democrats are only was too happy to keep accepting their campaign funds and passing laws that help them get more money while offering the taxpayers less in the form of competent teaching.

We really need to give Southern California back to Mexico with the express provisions that they move all of their illegals back into it and that they also have to keep all of the liberals, union members and common criminals who live there. Then we wall it off once and for all.

And the rest of our public schools need to be purged of unions ASAP. Let's do it for common sense, and let's do it for the children. Scott Walker for President in 2012!

Oh--and Fry Mumia!

Two German Shepherds in trouble...and one cur who should be put down

This is just one of those news days that should make every dog lover and decent American shake his/her head.

First we have the story of Congo. Congo is a German Shepherd in Princeton, New Jersey who bit an illegal alien who was hitting Congo and grabbing the dog's female owner, according to Guy James, owner of Congo and husband of Elizabeth James, the woman who was accosted by illegal alien Giovanni Rivera before Congo came to her defense. So the dog saved his mistress. Was he rewarded? Was the bad guy punished? Not even close. The illegal alien got a check for $250,000 from the James' insurance company and presumably still enjoys the good life in our country and Congo now sits on death row pending a final appeal to the courts. This is of course wrong on many levels. First, we need to change our legal system so that people illegally in our country cannot use our courts to get money from US citizens or corporations. I'm also betting that this particular illegal alien got all of his medical care at taxpayer expense too, and that no one bothered to seek reimbursement from his $250,000 windfall that he never should have been allowed to seek. But that aside, the immediate concern is that Congo needs to be freed right now. Once that's done, Rivera needs to be grabbed up and deported just as soon as he pays a fine for illegally entering our country. I'm thinking $250,000 ought to be a fair fine. FREE CONGO!

But lest you think that Shepherd-hate is an east coast things, Rollo the German Shepherd is in trouble in Golden Colorado. Rollo belongs to Laura Hagen, and he's also under death sentence for scaring a neighbor of Hagen's. Apparently Rollo got out of Hagen's yard and as Hagen was getting him back, the neighbor screamed at the sight of the dog and Rollo nipped her on the butt, tearing her pants but not even breaking the skin, according to paramedics who were summoned. Hagen reportedly agreed to build a bigger and better fence and get some training for the dog but the neighbor--who wasn't even injured--drummed up support from other neighbors and showed up in court claiming that they were all scared of Rollo and based solely on that, a judge ordered Rollo destroyed.

Hagen is now camping out in her car in front of the shelter where Rollo awaits his fate, doing whatever she can to fight for his freedom. As Rollo apparently hasn't actually harmed anyone yet, he and Hagen have the support of me and Lagniappe. And in that regard, Laura Hagen set up this website to help win support and tell her side of the story: www.rolodog.com Check it out and do what you can. FREE ROLLO!

Finally, we have a story about a worthless but deadly "dog" who should have been put down two and a half decades ago. That would be the vicious cop-murdering Wesley Cook, who changed his name in prison to Mumia Abu Jamal before becoming the darling of many of America's left-wing celebrities and socialist losers. December 9th will be the twenty-fifth anniversary of the death of Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulker, murdered in cold blood by Cook / Jamal. Officer Faulkner's wife is scheduled to be on The Today Show to talk about her new book, Murdered by Mumia, in which she talks about how this psychopath gunned down her husband only to become a champion of the lunatic left. Typically, the leftists are now protesting The Today Show and demanding to be included on the show/ Will they cave? Let's hope not. And let's hope that Cook / Jamal gets his due via lethal injection before too much more time passes. He's already lived twenty five years longer than Officer Faulker and that's twenty five years of cruel injustice.

The sob-sisters are crying for the poor murderers again

According to this story in the Washington Post, we're now supposed to demand an end to executions of America's worst criminals because someone now suspects that they can feel some pain from the drugs being put into their system.

Now we really don't know for sure that the murderers, rapists and torturers being put to death feel pain or discomfort for a minute or two but I have to ask why we should even care? I mean we're not talking about people who didn't return library books here--these are the people who rape and murder kids or beat senior citizens to death with tire irons. Their crimes were heinous enough that twelve Americans on a jury who who heard all the details decided that they had to go.

However this has never sat well with the liberal left, notably the ivory tower academics who sit in campus classrooms and spew their opinions at today's students. It you read the Post story, you'll see that the whining and wingeing is coming from that quarter yet again. The story is built around the claims of three university teachers who have probably never been any closer to a real murder or the families of murder victims than the episodes of Matlock that they watch on Sunday nights. This was also mentioned by Michael Rushford of the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation, a victims' rights group. commenting on the obvious bias and hidden motive of the academics, he said: "These people wouldn't be okay with Ethel Merman singing people to death."

Frankly I don't care if Tim McVeigh felt a few twinges on his way out. I hope that Wesley Cook, aka Mumia Abu Jamal feels plenty when he goes. Neither they nor the other creeps on Death Row ever cared how THEIR victims felt so why are we worrying about whether or not they feel uncomfortable for a few seconds? But this debate never ends. The liberal "keep them alive" movement has fought to make almost every state switch to lethal injection because the electric chair, gas chamber, firing squad and hanging were too barbaric for them and didn't reliably kill quickly enough, and not they're attacking the lethal injections for the same reason. Let's be honest even if they won't--their goal is to end all executions of even the most vicious criminals and since they can't persuade the public that these criminals have any redeeming value to justify keeping them alive, they're attacking the means that we use to execute them, hoping to shut down all executions on a technicality.

Call me a meanie, but I want to go the other way. I want to see the death penalty expanded and given to all first degree murderers, anyone who murders a child or rapes their victim, anyone who kills a police officer, and anyone who commits an act of domestic terrorism. I want it to be uniform, with no chance for a set-aside, and I think that they should be televised or at least open to the public, perhaps with admission charged and snacks sold to defray the costs. Heck, I'd take a vacation day to watch John Allen Muhammed, the Beltway Sniper, swing from the gallows, and I might even make the trip out to California to watch murderer Scott Peterson electrocuted. I'd probably even buy t-shirts if vendors had them available.

But you average folks need to be wary of the liberal head fake here. They don't really care if multiple murderer Antoinette Frank feels like she's suffocating or if the drugs cause poor cop-killing Wesley's skin to tingle as he dies. They want to get you all worked up so that their goal of no more executions ever will be realized.
Mind you, these are often the same people who think that abortion on demand for any reason at any stage during the pregnancy or even the delivery it a woman's right.

Well maybe I can look past that hypocrisy this time. It seems clear that all the liberals need to do is to just start looking at these executions as retroactive abortions and then they should be ok with them.
