Saturday Man Movie

Charles Bronson is on a train with an all-star cast in Breakheart Pass (1975).
People are dying, but no one knows why, or who is doing it. Can Bronson figure it out after he finishes fighting with Archie Moore on the roof of that train? (And BTW, that fight scene was filmed atop a real moving train. No CGI there.)
Also in this movie: Richard Crenna, David Huddleston, Charles Durning, Ed Lauter (a pal of Bronson, they starred in several movies together), Jill Ireland, Robert Tessier, and Ben Johnson.

And if you like steam trains, you really need to see this one. Truly a great movie, made back when movies were worth seeing.

All right...I have the epic fun fight scene from Cannonball Run (1981) here, the one where the racers, stranded together by road construction, join forces to fight a biker gang.

Featuring, among others: Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Farrah Fawcett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Roger Moore, Jack Elam, Adrienne Barbeau, a young Jackie Chan, Bert Convy, Terry Bradshaw, Mel Tillis, and Jamie Farr as racers and Peter Fonda and Robert Tessier as bikers.

How could any movie fail with a cast like that? (And this one didn't, but its sequel sure did.)

OK, we're stepping out of the Western/war movie genre to recognize another great guy movie...Hooper (1978), with Burt Reynolds and lots of other then-young but recognizable stars. Can you name them as they appear here?

Saturday Man Movie

In this scene from the 1975 movie Hard Times, Charles Bronson fights bare-knuckle brawls while his fast-talking promoter, Speed (played by James Coburn) sets up the fights and blows the winnings.

In this scene, he's fighting Robert Tessier, a stunt man and former circus performer who was well-known back in the 70's and 80's for his roles as a villain in numerous tough-guy films. He usually played an outlaw biker or other rough, and before he took up acting, he was a paratrooper in the Korean war, earning the Silver Star and a Purple Heart. Robert Tessier died of cancer in 1990, a real man to the last.
