Sigh...My Mom...and gravity. Not a good combination.

Sorry for the slow posting. The past couple of days have been a bit busy, in large part because my mother tripped and fell while walking with Murphy and I on Friday.

And no, this actually wasn't Murphy's fault for once. She just sorta tripped, but she landed hard on the sidewalk and the end result was a minor fracture of the wrist and a chipped tooth. So a fair bit of that day was spent getting her back home and then to various doctors to get the wrist immobilized.

She's going to be ok, but I blame myself. Not for her falling, of course, but for failing to get the phone numbers of several cute young college girls who rushed over to help when it happened. For "witness" purposes, of course. Those might have come in handy.

But she's going to be ok, and I must report that her injuries did not keep her from preparing a most impressive turkey dinner for eight on Saturday. Yep. She's truly something else.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, Murphy did not get any pie this year.

  2. Poor Murphy... it's just not FAIR!

Glad your Mom's ok. My Dad took a spill getting out of a vehicle last year and broke his wrist. I'm not looking foward to my bones getting more brittle with old age. I'm clumbsy enough that I imagine casts and splints will be regular accessories.

  5. Sorry to hear about your mom, that is tough. She is a real trooper and a better woman than I am. Sigh.

I broke both my legs above the ankle and I was home alone, outside, and had to crawl into the house to call my husband at work. So, it is good that there were 'assistants' there to help her.

  8. He didn't get his pie this year? There should be some kind of Legislative Action regarding this. "The Dog will be given his pie regardless of injury to the producing human." We shall call it... Murphy's Law.

  10. Oh, crud. But let me guess - she argued with you about going to the ER because she didn't want to be a bother.
