When good cars go bad.

Seen in Washington DC this week. Proof that with enough money and bad taste, you can even ghetto up an ex-police car.
And why not take a car that was once tuned for performance and totally negate that with hoopti rims? Configured like that, this car would have trouble getting out of it's own way; speed, cornering and braking went out the window and one good bump and those tires'll bottom our in the fender wells. And those stupid rims and tires probably cost more than the doofus driving it paid for the whole car at auction in the first place.

I'd be inclined to just shake my head and write it off to the local idiot culture in DC, but as Tam proved with this post, they got 'em in Indy, too.

  3. Hey Murphy,

I figured that the ghetto denizens like the car because they like the view of driving it, rather than being in the back seat.......

  4. I've seen one or two of those here in Anchorage, but our winters tend to make the foolishness of such vehicles clear in a hurry.

  5. Yep, love to watch them try to parallel park too! Either the fender well takes a hit, or they cut a tire down!!!! LOL

  6. I laugh every time I have one come into our shop with the rim bent because the sidewall of the tire are so smaill, yes they are here in Texas too.

  7. I have absolutely no problem with hard working business folks separating idiots from what little money they have. This way also entertains the rest of us!

    1. Gotta spend that dope money on something, right? And stupid rims make so much more sense than a college fund or retirement account.

    2. After a typical 2-to-5 stretch, how much more do need to learn in "Yale?" The Gov. will take care of them in retirement at 40-to-Life...

    1. They appeal to the flat-ironed hat brim, pants hanging down to your upper thigh, rap noise listening sub-culture.

  10. The only body style that those wheels don't look absolutely ridiculous on are the baroque late-70s G-body GMs, specifically Monte Carlos. They had those funky baroque-styled fender lines and the severely chopped roofline with the half-vinyl top so they look pretty whimsical already...

  11. Yep! Have them here too. Sigh.... I especially like the ones with the spotlight still on the A pillar.

  12. One of the times I've wanted to seriously hurt someone was seeing a Mercury Maurder with half vinyl top, wing on the trunk, and rims.
