Garands...

Not long ago, I was at my local range to do some shooting, when I met a man there raffling off an M-1 Garand for the state rifle club'd youth program. I bought a few tickets, remarking that I could always use another Garand. The man asked me what kind I had. I asked him what he meant, and he asked what manufacture of Garand I had.

I told him that I had the spectrum covered. And kinda I do.
But a youth program always deserves support, so I suppose that I could take a chance on another one, since it's for a good cause and all.

    1. Heh. Then I'm glad I didn't show the rack of '03 Springfields, the rack of M1 carbines, the rack of Enfields, the rack of Mausers or the rack of Martini-Henrys. ;-)

    2. He's not kidding!
Hey Murph, got a IHC receiver or complete rifle ya want to get rid of? Guy at the local range REALLY wants one. Now I find out after I was at CMP when they had them for sale that weekend. Sigh....

    3. Sorry, Keads. Got two IHCs and they're staying right here. I could have had a third in this last release of them but money was short so I passed and had them send me a cheaper SA service grade instead. Had I known about your friend then, we probably could have worked something out.

  6. Well, I've only got one, but it has parts from pretty much all the manufacturers in it.
Does that count as "all bases covered" ?

    Shoots better than I can.

  7. I have two but they are both Springfields. I shot in an NRA high power match back in the 1980's with my fedex guy. Then we got DCM guns. I got a mint condition Springfield. He got an International Harvester (I think that's what it was) that was in unissued condition.

  8. Hmmmm...if you win, since you seem to have the spectrum covered, you should hold a raffle (for charity...or dog squeaky toys....or whatever) for all us poor, unfortunate souls who don't have one! LOL Wonder if there's a record for how many times one item can be raffled off....

  9. And... You'll probably win another one... :-)

    1. If I win, it's only because you didn't buy a ticket, Mr. Lucky.
