Learning

I tried some baking today. I learned some things.

I learned that all of the smoke detectors in my house work.
I learned that said smoke detectors are wired together, and when one goes off, they all go off.
I learned that they are quite loud AND a chrome-plated bitch to reset, at least until the doors are opened and the residual smoke is vented out.

More to come later.

  1. Comedian Ron White says he had to tell his wife that the smoke detector was not a cooking timer.

  2. A damp rag over it silences them in my house, just remember to remove it before bed.

  3. Been there done that, a good wind up timer helps, and a window fan. But, good Greek god food! Yup.

  4. Had a brain fart one time cooking a cake and set the oven on fire, house filled with smoke. Luckily the wife was asleep and missed it all.

  6. Had to unplug our smoke+carbon monoxide detector as it kept going off and giving me a headache.

  7. Let me know if you get some of the cornbread done without the fire department. :-)

    1. New non-stick pans. Worth the investment right there. ;-)
