So the "Protest" and attempt to remove the Andrew Jackson Statue in the name of Black Lives Matter because "racist or something" kinda fizzled out. And General Jackson is still there.
I did not get arrested. But four or five losers did, including this one who called on everyone to follow him over the police line, and then, after jumping it, was surprised to find himself alone...well alone except for these nice officers.
There were police on foot and on horses.
And they were arrayed against a few hundred white kids, most of whom are NOT New Orleans residents if the sample I talked to is representative of the whole.
Whitest BLM protest I ever saw. Guess the black folks in this city didn't care enough to come out. But then these statues were never an issue until Mayor Mitch Landrieu decided that he needed an issue to build a base on so that he could get a job on Hillary's team when/if she gets to Washington. And most of the agitators are either college kid temporary transplants with no ties to the city and probably no intent to stay, or else they came from somewhere else.
I hung around with them for a while at their rally point in Congo Square, taking all their pictures, but finally they started noticing me and taking MY picture, so I figured that was a good time to just go back to the statue and wait on them.
Oh--and David Duke was there too.
I'd loved to have seen someone run up and hit him with a pie or something. Because I hate Illinois Nazis, and he's like the closest thing we've got to one here.
The toads get repulsed when they tried to rush the statue. NOPD got in there FAST with the horses and closed the gap, and they only tried once. (See pic of arrested guy above.) Then they marched off down Decatur Street, a few throwing small balloons filled with paint at police and EMS vehicles from the safety of the middle of their crowd. By then I'd had enough so I went to get beer and came home. Nap time now, because Saturday night starts in a few hours.

We are often judged by the caliber of our enemies.
Not a Trump fan here, but almost willing to support him just to stick my finger in the eye of the intolerant and fascistic left-wing haters, from Hollywood on down, who hate him so much that they try to suppress and censor him even at his own events, and failing that, attack those who show an interest in hearing him or even attacking the police officers tasked with protecting the listeners and protesters alike.
3 Arrested, 4 Officers Injured During Clash Outside Trump Rally
According to the criminal complaint, several officers were working a “skirmish line” between Trump supporters and “anarchist members in masks” and protesters. At one point, the anarchists/protesters began using pepper spray on the officers while trying to get to the Trump supporters.
At least two officers were pepper-sprayed. One of those officers was also allegedly kicked in the back of the knees by Kennon Hooper, 31, of West Oakland. The officer fell to the ground and was kicked once more by Hooper.
Hooper resisted arrest, but was forcibly handcuffed.
A female protester jumped on the back of an officer while they were trying to arrest Hooper. That woman has been identified as Lisa Cuyler, 27, of Polish Hill, and she was detained without incident.
While that was happening, a man wearing a black mask and black hat grabbed the protective vest of a police sergeant and attempted to fight him. A female officer attempted to take the man into custody, but he resisted. Both fell to the ground and the officer suffered a cut to her hand and an injury to her shoulder. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and has been identified as Maxwell Yearick, 29, of Perry South.
All three suspects were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
Hooper and Yearick are facing charges of riot, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
Cuyler is being charged with riot and aggravated assault.
Glad that the officers are ok, but my personal opinion--and only my personal opinion--is that these three should have been driven into some secluded alleyway after their arrest and been turned up rightfully and properly before being taken in for booking. Brutality? maybe. But the fact is, these three are the sort of savages that see nothing wrong with attacking anyone, including the police, and the only thing that this sort respects if fear and pain and the concept of immediate and assured retribution. They don't worry about court, because some leftist lawyers that support their cause like the scumbags at the National Lawyers Guild who attend all of these protests for just such an incident) will be there to represent them for free, and likely as not, some liberal judge will decline to send them to jail. If there's a fine, their moms and dads will write the check or some liberal benefactor will quietly pay it...there's no cost to being an anarchist attacker unless the police return to the old days and get medieval on them with sticks and boots. Shocking in today's times, but it was routinely done before liberals grabbed control of our nation, and darned if people didn't think twice about hitting a cop back in those days. Guaranteed consequences actually work to prevent bad people from doing bad things and the result back then was a more orderly society with greater safety and liberty for everyone else other than the few incorrigible knuckleheads who needed to learn the hard way to respect other people.
And pepper-spraying a police officer? That's actually grounds for getting shot, even today. These over-coddled trust-fund kids are really lucky that Pittsburgh's finest were so restrained.
Added note: Looks like Kennon Hooper has been arrested before, for train hopping in Florida. Sounds like he's a lifestyle gutterpunk and his presence at this rally makes one wonder if he was paid to be there and act up, and if so, by whom.

Another police officer attacked; attacker's family cries over result.
In Gallatin, TN, a Sheriff's Deputy was attacked by a woman with an axe while helping carry our an eviction from a local public housing complex. A responding Gallatin officer was then set upon by this same woman as he exited his car. She charged at him and ignored his commands to stop and he took action to protect himself. Watch the video here and see how fast it unfolded. Note that he retreated while trying to give her commands but she kept coming.
Heart-stopping video shows the moment police officer fatally shot ax-wielding woman
The woman, identified as Laronda Sweatt, was shot twice and assumed room temperature shortly afterwards.
Predictably, her momma and other ran to the news to condemn the police officer and defend this "good woman".
Ella Sweatt is Laronda's mother and told WKRN: 'Laronda was a very sweet, caring person until you pushed her.' (Translation: "push her" and she stops being sweet.)
'Laronda wasn't violent unless you made her violent.' (Translation: She got violent.)
'Her and I had our ups and downs, but...' (Translation: Even Momma couldn't handle her at times. But...)
Ella Sweatt also said: 'Laronda didn't like to fight. (Translation: She fought.)
'All through school the child had to fight. They picked on her because she was small. (Translation: She fought a lot.)
'She was my only child out of five...' Can't even translate that.
'She died a beautiful lady. And I'm not gonna be satisfied until I get the truth.' (Translation: I want the cop in jail and I want a pail of cash.)
Henry Apple, Sweatt's cousin, was among numerous family and friends who gathered at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin on Wednesday.
“She was a good person,” Apple said. “It could have been avoided, him killing her and shooting her in the chest like that. It could have been avoided.”
Apple said Sweatt had "a mental problem". (Translation: "She was nuts and we all knew it, and she was hitting folks with an axe, but that don't matter now because police shot her.")
Bottom line is, at the end of the day, all of the police officers and innocent bystanders went home safe and sound, and one less unstable axe-murderer wanna-be is out of circulation. Still, I'm sure that the #BlackLivesMatter-but-only-if-white-police-are-involved racists will be along shortly to protest this and loot some local businesses in her honor.
Watch the shooting video again. Fast, huh? If you carry as an officer or civilian, are you ready for something like that?

Officer Lauren Bauer needs backup!
It's not often that I post here asking for things, either for myself or for others, but in this case, I'm willing to make an exception, because it looks like Lauren Bauer, a police officer for the city of Madison, Illinois, is really getting hosed and could use some support for herself and her family.
Officer Lauren Bauer needs backup!
Injured on the job, then kicked to the curb by that same job? Yeah, I know a little about that. And a lot of people are finding out about this one, both due to the word of mouth campaign spreading this, and a story that was recently run by KMOV, St. Louis.
Officer hurt while risking life now fighting for worker's comp
If the facts presented are true, and I see no reason to believe that they are not, then this woman needs help. So throw her a few bucks and spread the word. Hopefully pressure will mount of the city and they'll consider doing the right thing for a change.

Can someone explain to me...
How NBC CBS, the broadcaster for the Super Bowl--and the NFL--could ever think that it was a good idea to let Beyonce use their air time and the half-time show to give every American police officer and much of mainstream America the middle finger with her "Black Lives Matter" dance and anti-police song?
Beyonce gets political at Super Bowl, pays tribute to 'Black Lives Matter'
Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. Over
I didn't bother tuning in to the game because, frankly, I tire of the hype surrounding it, and that includes all of the over-the-top commercials with vapid celebrities who got paid millions to hawk whatever, but this crap? Really? When all we hear lately is how evil and racist and non-inclusive America is, who could possibly have thought that somehow we'd all become more loving towards and tolerant of the ones screaming the loudest about how crummy America is (despite giving them every possible opportunity to thrive and earn wealth) by giving one of their chief advocates the green light to use the Super Bowl itself to basically tell the rest of us to fuck off?
At least some of America's Finest responded by turning their backs on this uncultured and ungrateful lout.
America's sheriffs turn back on Beyonce Super Bowl 'Formation' performance
I wonder what she'd do if somehow the police were able to selectively refuse to protect her or respond to calls for help from her and her family from now on? Of course they wouldn't, even if they could. Unlike Beyonce, her BLM-bankrolling husband, and the thugs who run around shouting the names of dead violent criminals as if they were some sort of saints, the men and women of American law enforcement are better than that. They go to work and do their jobs every day because they believe that ALL lives matter, even relatively non-beneficial ones like Travon Martin, Mike Brown, LaVoy Finicum or Beyonce.
Oh--and I note for the record that this One-Percenter who regularly champions gun control also took to wearing bandoliers of fake bullets as part of her costume. So I guess that makes her a racist hater AND a hypocrite.

What do you do when your singer can't make it? Call a cop.
Specifically, you call Officer Carlton Smith, A West Virginia University police officer.
At the WVU/Kansas game in Morgantown, WV last Tuesday, the snow was so bad that the scheduled National Anthem singer couldn't make it. Officer Smith, with five minutes prep time, took to center court and saved the day though, with this fantastic rendition of our anthem.
Good job, Officer Smith. America salutes you.

Instant Karma #2. Thug tased while trying to draw gun from waistband shoots himself.
This one makes me smile.
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Police in Oakland, California approached this mouth-breather because he was smoking in a prohibited area. He started to get squirrely with them, gave them a fake name and threatened to jump in front of a train. When they went to detain him, he reached for something in his waistband. The officers stepped back and deployed at least one Taser, only to hear a shot ring out. Turns out that the knucklehead was drawing a gun tucked into that waistband and the taser shock made his hands clench as he gripped the pistol. Result: a nice gunshot wound to his own stomach.
Oakland BART Shooting: Man in Critical Condition, Expected to Survive
And of course, this being Oakland, the Usual Suspects congregating nearby immediately jumped on the internet and started rumors to the effect that the police just shot another unarmed black guy. Personally, I'm getting pretty tired of the constant parade of assorted mutts and scumbags going around bashing the cops every time they take police action against a black guy or even some buck-toothed Tim McVeigh clone with a gun and a Gadsen flag. Since when did criminals become victims and the police become the villains? That's not how it works in my world, and the day that America goes down that road is the day that I'm done with America. For the record, this blogger and his dogs support Law Enforcement 100%.

"Nasty little fellows such as Brian Sumner always get their comeuppance."
And I'm happier today for having read that Brian Sumner, a professional unemployed street agitator and cop-pesterer in Fresno, CA, was convicted by a jury of his peers people who likely have jobs and lives and a stake in their community on a misdemeanor charge of vandalism after he videotaped himself writing anti-cop garbage on a memorial dedicated to twelve Fresno officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Sumner, along with his fellow Occupier-trash Andrew Wittmore, was arrested and charged with the vandalism last month after writing on the memorial. Sumner has an extensive history in the Fresno area of following the police around with a video camera and trying to incite them into responding to his antics. He claims that he does it "to protest police brutality", yet the fact that he has yet to be taken into an alley and beaten senseless by the police officers that he continually taunts would suggest that the "brutality" that he claims that they regularly engage in doesn't happen like he says it does.
And for the record, I'd be perfectly fine with the police tuning him up a bit when he gets out of line. Society was a politer, more orderly place back in the day when knuckleheads knew that they could get their asses kicked for acting like assholes in front of the police.
My opinion aside, it seems that the community has had enough of this ass-monkey and others like him as well, because a jury found him guilty and he's looking at a fine and maybe even some jail time for his actions which were clearly "intended to be disrespectful and annoying", according to the case against him. It doesn't matter it if was just chalk or that it could be easily washed off. What matters was that the memorial wasn't his to deface. Period. He chose it specifically because he hates police--all police--and he admitted as much.
I hope that he gets jail time. I really do. And I hope that he gets a sentence of community service, perhaps doing 40 hours of yard work for each of the families of the officers memorialized on the monument that he vandalized. I personally have had enough of these clowns acting as if they are some sort of rebel heroes for harassing the men and women that do a job that they themselves would never do, and I also tire of them claiming that any military service that they engaged in somehow confers legitimacy on what they do, even when they ended up getting tossed out of the service for misconduct like Sumner was.
Good job, ADA Amy Cobb and jurors in Fresno. Idiots like Sumner will always have a few fellow-traveler supporters behind them but the bulk of America stands solidly behind our police officers and law and order. I know that I do.

[Prosecutor Amy] Cobb said Sumner’s words to the arresting officer proved his malicious intent: “I’m not apologizing. We were disrespectful. It’s how we get when cops come around. We’re not big fans of police officers.”

Detroit Reporter takes Police "Shoot/Don't Shoot" test
In Detroit recently, a Detroit News reporter spent a day going through some of the same "Shoot/Don't Shoot" training that police officers get courtesy of a MILO simulator that puts the trainee in the middle of countless realistic scenarios where deadly force might--or might not--be necessary, often giving him or her just seconds to make a life-or-death decision based upon when he or she is seeing. It turned out to be a real eye-opener for the reporter.
. Read the rest of the story here: Shoot or don't shoot: Police reporter takes test. I've been through this sort of training, and it's realistic, stressful and educational. Not only do the scenarios happen fast, but the computers know which weapons you have in your hand and the scenerios instantly change based on how effectively you use tham. Many people come out of the room with their voices hoarse from shouting at the people on the screen, and even those who are crack shots on a static pistol range find out that their accuracy goes right out the window when the adrenaline is flowing and the "target" is a moving, talking and sometimes rapidly attacking person. "How did you miss four times?" "Did you even see that weapon in her hands?" "When did you see the second person with the weapon off to the side...the one that killed you?" This training is dynamic and realistic, and it shows you what it's like to have to make split-second decisions in cases where it's often not even clear what's going on. In short, it's just like real life, only no one actually dies for real. I'm glad that this reporter got to try this. I just wish that more people, particularly those vocal critics of the police, could have a go at it. It might just give them a new appreciation for the people that they spend so much time criticizing. If you recall my earlier post on this subject, this guy went through it, and it gave him a new outlook on policing. It's a pity that we don't have more chances to run people through these machines. Personally, I'm thinking that most every legislator and lawyer should have to do it, but that's just me.

Destroying your career on Facebook and other "Stupid Lawyer Tricks".
So baby lawyer Leslie Anderson (Admitted to the NJ Bar in December, 2014.) Just taught herself a hard lesson by posting stupid comments on a news forum regarding the line-on-duty death of New Jersey State Trooper Anthony Raspa, who was killed May 30th when his cruiser struck a deer and went off the road into the woods.
As flags went to half-staff across the state, and as thousands of other law enforcement officers from across the country came together to mourn Trooper Raspa and support his family at his funeral, Leslie Anderson, Douchebaguette extraordinaire, was busy posting snarky comments on the news stories about the trooper, stating that his death was "Not that sad and certainly not 'tragic'". And she didn't stop there. When other commenters expressed sympathy for the trooper's family, Anderson replied: "I agree that it is sad and heart wrenching for the family members left to suffer the consequences of the Trooper's recklessness — especially for the deer family who lost a mommy or daddy or baby deer."
And it wasn't just those two posts. She went back and forth with mourners and critics of her posts at length, Saying such things as: "Only in America is this considered a tragedy," and "The outcry and ‘thank yous’ are absurd, nonsensical, and completely unwarranted. There are people in this country and around the world dying for much less. There is nothing ‘tragic’ about this. Get over yourselves and your sense of entitlement, people."
I don't even pretend to know what this nasty troll of a girl's problem is, but she has other problems now. It seems that her Facebook and other social media pages identified her as a law clerk to Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Travis Francis, and when the public outrage over her comments got back to the court, she was suspended with pay for two weeks pending an investigation. And subsequent to that, Leslie, for whatever reason, resigned from her job entirely.
My thought is that she was probably pressured to resign, and frankly I'm good with that. I agree with Chris Burgos, president of the New State Troopers Fraternal Association, who stated that Anderson, via her blatant display of hatred for Trooper Raspa here, cannot be trusted to perform as an impartial officer of the court. Damn straight, I say.
So as it stands now, Anderson's legal career just took a chop to the knees. Normally, a clerkship is a major resume enhancer and a stepping stone towards a high-paying job. But being forced to resign from one, especially in such a public manner...well that can't be good. Frankly, I don't see too many top-tier firms looking to court her onto their partner tracks now.
Of course, this being Obama's America, I'm sure that she'll soon be deluged with offers for various "community organizer" positions with countless left-wing groups. But hopefully this story, kept alive on the eternal internet, will at least keep her out of academic, government and public policy positions, at least until she grows up.
RIP, Trooper Raspa.

Tribute to the Fallen Heroes. Police Week Memorial 2015
Since this is Police Week, police officers from all across the country--and around the world--are in Washington, DC for the memorial activities. Sadly I missed the candlelight vigil Wednesday night--and I missed watching anti-cop Obama preen for a photo op in front of thousands of the cops that he's insulted and demeaned over the past seven years, but I got down there last night for some pics at the Law Enforcement Memorial. Unfortunately I'm just down to my camera phone now since primary camera took a nose-dive on the concrete on the way there. And it was dusk when I got there, but hopefully these pics capture some of the solemnity.
Many officers are here to remember their fallen comrades.
And many family members come to remember their lost loved ones. And they bring photos, posters and other memorabilia. The heroes are never forgotten. So here are just a few of the countless names on the wall.
Officer Tanjia King, Orlando Fl, Police Dept. Officer Tanja King was killed when her cruiser struck a light pole while she was responding to an emergency assistance call.
Deputy John Mecklenburg, Hernando County Sheriff's Office, Florida. Killed in a crash during a vehicle pursuit.
He was a US Army vet who left behind a wife and two small children.
Officer Robert Hornsby, Killeen Police Department, Texas. Police Officer Bobby Hornsby was shot and killed by a savage with an AK-47 while participating in a SWAT deployment at an apartment complex.
Another officer was wounded at the same time, but the officers returned fire and killed the shooter.
Sergeant Brian Dulle, Warren County Sheriff's Office, Ohio. Hit by the suspect's vehicle while deploying stop sticks to end a pursuit.
